Absolutely delicious roast dinner. Pork belly was perfect, gravy was rich and scrumptious, veg crunchy yet cooked, piggies were immense. Service was fab. Stuffing was slightly herby but still yum. Highly recommended. The tits

This place gets really busy we went around 5...but is well worth the wait, you can book a table for four or if there are less of you, then you can just walk in and the staff will do their best to seat you as soon as they can. I have been here a couple of times because my sister... More
The Geese is quite possibly the greatest pub on this somewhat troubled rock crashing through space. The sensational Sunday roasts are unequaled as are the wonderful staff. They are dog friendly, which to me is a sign of dignity, integrity and intelligence. As God himself once said "Never trust a pub which doesn't like dogs"
Called here for a Sunday evening meal and was very disappointed. The pub was packed which is always a good sign, but the the clientele are mainly students and let's face it, many wouldn't know quality if it hit them in the face. The food was very poor, dry and over cooked and portions of vegetables were inconsistent between different... More
You know you sound like Donald Trump right? Thank you for your review and I'm sorry it was't to your exacting standards. How you knew that most of the customers are students is quite unclear, and as you assumed all the staff were students when not one out of a team of ten is actually a student shows how inaccurate... Initially the idea of eating in a pub that served just sausages seemed a bit odd, but it really is worth a visit, with a good range of sausages, different varieties of mash, and various vegetable/side dishes to accompany. Added to this is a very good atmosphere and a couple of interesting beers. Will be returning
Alright so a pub that sells almost exclusively Bangers and Mash (and alcohol of course) sounds like it could be a bit bland, especially for my wild (haha) north American taste that craves flavour and spice and everything nice. The Geese blew me right off my high horse and converted me to a Bangers and Mash sort of girl. It... More
Friendly pub whether you are dining or just having a drink. Specialises in 10 types of sausages, 7 types of mash and several choices of gravy. GF and Vegan also catered for. Bar staff are excellent and beer is well kept. Good mix of students, locals and visitors.
On the recommendation of a friend, we crossed town to check out The Geese for their famous bangers and mash. We were both thoroughly impressed by the wide range of options, especially as my friend is vegetarian. The apple and cider sausage I had was perfectly balanced and the caramelised onion gravy was exquisite. Service was efficient and friendly, and... More
In case you haven't figured it out this where you come for bangers and mash. A huge variety of sausages, mash and gravy. My daughter is a vegetarian and lots of veg options. We both loved it. She had the red pepper and tomato sausage and I had the pork and leek, with colcannon mash and red wine veg gravy.... More
