Another lovely old Brighton pub that has moved with the times without sacrificing the character. Slightly off the main road again, definitely worth the detour. Was nice to encounter bar staff we recognised from a Hove pub, great service. Was quiet but mid-afternoon when we called. Love the old-fashioned advertising they have up in the corridor. This was balanced out... More

Can not fault our visit to this venue ... the teen and I enjoyed a lush roast that I didn't have to cook ... and it met all the expectations of this fussy foodie ... staff , atmosphere and food were all awesome... I thinks it's under new management recently... will definitely be coming again ... worth every penny .

Great pub, super friendly staff and the new menu is amazing. Plus bumped into the pub lord and his moustache was on point!

It's not a great atmospheric pub but with a table booked for 2pm we decided to give somewhere different a go. 75 minutes later and gnawing our arms off, our dinner arrived.. if you like Aunt Bessie Yorkshires, pickled beetroot out of a jar added to a microwaved Iceland roast for one then this is for you. I'm just glad... More

I had been here a few evenings in the past and it always had a great atmosphere, buzzy with good food. Popped in this weekend for a quick drink and wow - haven't things changed! I was really taken aback by how run down it now looks. The tables were neglected with plates of eaten food. There wasn't much on... More

I was shocked when the bell was rang in The Hampton the other night. A decent crowd, not too rowdy, but the two bar staff felt they were being over-worked and decided to close the bar. They hadn't run out of beer, they just felt they needed to tidy up before serving any more pints. If I'd done this when... More

Went over the Easter weekend and they were clearly struggling with stock, having underestimated footfall. The staff on hand were very good though and kept us informed about ETAs. The food isn't spectacular but it does the job. I have been to this pub a few times and it's becoming one of my favourites. It's very inclusive - dog- and... More

My girlfriend and I stumbled into this pub for a light evening beer and fell across a gem! With a busy but warm atmosphere and smiley locals all around we knew right away this was for us. After some small chit chat with the barmaid we found out that the kitchen had just had a menu change, so being hungry,... More
