This is my go to place when I miss my beloved french pastries too much. Only place I know in the uk that makes cakes the "french" way. Everything I've had there tastes amazing. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Macaroons are superb, cakes are beautiful, pastries are a slice of home. Highly recommend the high tea. It's... More

Walk up queens road on my way home and spontaneously popped into Julien Plumart Cafe. They had a nice variety of cakes, coffee ect but I quickly spotted the wide macaron varieties! I picked 4 with help from the "barista?". I tasted all 4 on my way home and they were delicious. I'm definitely coming back for more.

We came across this baker on the bake off creme de la creme and wanted to see for ourselves. Julien Plumart has 2 cafes in Brighton and they specialise in macaron having gained taste awards for some of the innovations. The cafe is small but cosy and friendly and it does take reservations for afternoon tea. At peak times, do... More

The patisserie was really good. The macarons delicious, the cakes pretty, although oddly large and the sandwiches delicious. However the staff didn't know what was in the cakes! we're vegetarian and when I asked them to check re gelatine I was told that they don't make the cakes on the premises so they didn't know. I wonder if they are... More

Wanted to go to the Salon de Thé for Afternoon Tea but it wasn't suitable for wheelchair access. The Cafe has downstairs loo and only a couple of steps so is manageable for access ( but probably not if you're on your own). We went because the patisserie looked fantastic.....and it certainly was. The staff were so friendly and helpful. You... More

My daughter chose to stop off here on our way back to the station. A quick coffee for me, and a croissant for her. Service was very good and quick though it wasn't busy. The cakes looked beautiful and tempting. We had a cappuccino and pain au chocolate. Both were very nice and reasonably priced. Though I think the macaroons... More

Went here with mum for a special treat. We had the afternoon tea - they were very flexible in adapting this to my vegetarian diet and the atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed. However, the place could do with a little updating.

Met people here last week for coffee (at their suggestion) and was totally taken with the service, patisserie and menu. Just had a coffee and cookie (chocolate, almond and lavendar I believe) as it was a morning meet. Spent the rest of the day hot-footing it around Brighton for various meetings but couldn't stop thinking about this incredible little cafe.... More
