Only heard about this charming and friendly little restaurant on Saturday just a few hours before heading there. It seems a much loved and closely guarded secret, but a place that deserves to be on everybody's list both local and visitors. Passionate owner and staff and lovely food. Also hosts events and film evenings. Make sure you go.....

I went here for a friend's birthday dinner and it was such a fun evening. The hosts will sing quirky songs to you and the whole place will just charm you with its eccentric decor. The food is tasty, filling comfort food. You will leave with a smile on your face and wanting to tell all your friends about it!

Thanks to TripAdvisor I found out about Bom-Bane's when planning a birthday meal out in Brighton - somewhere with an overwhelming choice of eateries but not always offering much of a dining experience. I love unusual eating places. This one combined the intimacy of a friend's front room with thoughtful service and good quality food. Jane, the owner, is very... More

I have been to Bom-Banes for three of their shows - Bom Banimals, Saippuakivikauppias, and Merrily on High, and all three have been strange, and magical. The food has always been modest, but delicious, and fitting to the theme of the show, and the atmosphere is rather like being at a family dinner. The room almost seems alive, with puppets... More

Went here for a meal on Saturday 26th Nov 2016, with four friends. This is a very small restaurant on two floors. The higher floor at street level has just a few tables , some of these tables will surprise you! The menu is not vast but has an interesting variety of mostly local sourced food. There is a good... We were visiting my fiances sister in Brighton and she booked us here for dinner. What an amazing place. We arrived first and she asked if we were Amanda & Chris. We were seated in the window and told we could spread out. It was Chris that noticed the message on the wall! We had prosecco as we were celebrating... More

We absolutely loved our lunch at Bom-Bane's. Jane was amazing and the best host I've ever had in a restaurant and really went the extra mile to make sure we had a great time. Lovely comfort food with nice wine. Just a perfect meal and the epitome of the uniqueness of Brighton.

We have visited this little place several times for large and small occasions. There have been small musical sessions in the basement bar that we have attended together with a lovely "special" birthday for a friend. The food and entertainment were fantastic . The tables are quirky in the ground floor area where we have been for light meals and... More

I looked for places with vegetarian options before I left for one of my regular visits from Australia and saw Bom Bane's I agree with everything others have written about it. A 'one off' - with the singing, the lifting table, etc - very well worth visiting. Interesting food. Great, all Belgian, beers. Good staff - plus Jane herself. Will... More
