I've no criticism of the place, the general consensus and fiercely loyal locals will testify to its qualities, but for me it didn't set the heart racing. It's unpretentious feel and charm, epitomised by the key protagonists, are a boon and the mains seemed to hit the spot - I should confess I'm not a great Thai food fan -... More

Two of us had a lovely dinner here. Last minute decision to eat there and we weren't disappointed. The spicy prawn starter was incredibly tasty. The ginger and oyster sauce stir fry was very fragrant and full of flavour. The penang curry was light and delicious. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes. Highly recommended.

Tookta is bonkers, kind, funny and an exceptional cook. She and her partner and family run the restaurant and the food is always good. It's one of my favourite places in Brighton to eat as it's consistently delicious and always such a warm welcome. What's not to like!

Funny little place from the outside. Recommended by our friends. Fantastic starters of crispy squid - perfectly soft squid (not rubbery!) in a light tempura batter - delicious! followed by Thai green curry, my partner had the red version which was equally as fantastic. They do not serve desserts and have a limited wine selection - but go for the... More

Booked a table for 7 of us in advance as I didn't want to risk not getting to visit Tookta and her fabulous restaurant again. I have been before but none of my friends had. I wasn't disappointed as yet again our evening was faultless. We had mixed starters for 4 and then 3 of us shared a selection of... More

We arrived at Tookta's around 6:30 (opens at 6) to find customers already there and several tables booked but no problem getting a table. Really enjoyed our meal of prawn starters and Pad Thai/beef curry. Singha beers went down a treat as well. Will try to return before too long.

After our one only visit before, I went back here with my partner for our one year anniversary. A quiet Monday night and for the first half an hour we had the place to ourselves. Bliss! Once again the food was incredible. Thai fish cakes for myself and spring rolls for my lady, followed by chicken pad thai and I... More

We visited Tookta's last weekend for the first time and loved it! Really friendly staff, cosy atmosphere and the food was delicious. We will definitely be returning. If you're in Brighton and looking for authentic Thai food then definitely try Tookta's.
