Two very sad visits was enough for me. Waited over an hour for very small portion of lukewarm food the first time, with unhappy staff and a cross manager looming over everyone. Second time the food had to be sent back to the kitchen. For a place that presents itself as so upmarket it is a huge let down. There... More

I have been to the PPT on many occasions since it changed hands a couple of years ago. Over this time the food has varied in quality and taste, but our most recent visit prompted me to review again. Although there was nothing that I would have returned to the kitchen, the food was just not very good. A starter... More

I have eaten their twice recently. Once for lunch, midweek with friends, we waited 45 minutes for our lunch, and there was only 6 other people in the pub. My friends Fish in batter was burnt (this has been the case on several occasions), my other friends salmon in filo was greasy. The brioche burger bun was overly sweet and... More

We visited Preston Park Tavern for a roast this Sunday with my sister and her family. The roast dinners never disappoint at the tavern. We ordered roast lamb, chicken and a nut roast, all were very good. The lamb was presented as a good chunk of meat that was seductively crispy and chewy on the edges and succulent and tender... Popped in tonight as a party of four for an early meal and drink. Feels lovely when you walk in, however it was just too dark to sit and try and read the menu, we all needed to use the torches on our phones to read the menu! When the food arrived we could barely see what we had on... More

I was disappointed food tepid and desert was supposed to be pannacotta it was so rich we couldn't eat it and was nothing like a Pannacotta should be. Also was told whist eating desert we only had 25 mins left before they wanted table back.

We had some good food, service and beer in a friendly atmosphere. The pub itself is well decorated and inviting. I would visit again.

More of a restaurant than pub to be honest - food very good. However, there are often far too many children running around to provide what I call 'a proper pub'. Having said this its a great lunch time venue when the food prices are very reasonable. Maybe avoid early evening if, like me, you prefer a more adult environment.

Came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. Friendly, pleasant and helpful staff. A great menu selection, excellently presented. This NOT your standard pub grub. A wide variety of wines at a reasonable price. A good atmosphere and great value for money. Will put this on our list of eating places to revisit. Thanks for contributing to our wonderful evening.

Description
Locals and foodies mix in this delightfully bright and cheerful family-friendly food pub – a hidden gem, which has remained busy and buzzy since it opened six years ago. Something of a local institution, this fabulous pub serves good honest food, prepared with skill and passion. Beautifully prepared roast meals are served on Sundays from 12 to 6pm. With superb Sussex reared meats, a vegetarian and fish option as well as small portions for children, it’s hard to find a reason not to visit.
