Enjoyed a meal for 4 of us last Friday at the Restaurant - We had a Groupon voucher and this was taken without issue and they explained what was included etc which was pleasant as not all the Restaurants/Hotels do. The meal itself was also...More

We stayed at the hotel, the breakfast was excellent. We viisted the restaurant twice in the evenings; the cofit duck was tastey although a little dry without sauce and the seasonal venegtables turne dout to be a vegetable stew which did not go well with...More

We went with a Groupon voucher. The staff were pleasant enough although seemed somewhat inexperienced. At one point, I'm guessing it was the owner who walked in, as he had a suit and a purposeful stride but proceeded to commandeer the atmosphere of the dining...More

A pleasant surprise away from the bustle of the main streets and traditional outlets. The menu proclaims to be French to match the decor but you needn't be worried about finding snails and nouvelle cuisine. Instead we encountered well prepared fish: cod with chorizo, basmati...More

Had the sharing starter which was a very large portion. Pretty tasty stuff. For mains we had pork cheeks and duck. Both flavoursome although the duck could have done with less potatoes and maybe some extra veg? They have limited choices for wine by the...More

Visited with friends on a Friday night. I like this place because it is different. It's part of the hotel so does have that hotel feel without being impersonal. The food is excellent. The service is friendly but sometimes awkward. New steine serves quality food...More

The wierdest experience. My daughters steak was cremated, my sons crab cakes were awful, I have no idea what was in them, my chicken was dry as Gandi's flipflop!! The creme brulee tasted of washing up liquid. The man serving us was really lovely, to...More

Visited above bistro after being given a voucher for Christmas. 6 courses were all delicious! I do recommend a visit but make sure you have plenty of time as it takes around 2 hours! Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Description
Tucked away inside the fashionable New Steine Hotel in central Brighton is an award-winning restaurant serving up homemade French food. The New Steine Bistro has a cosy Parisian vibe, and the contemporary décor has a distinct Provencal twist. Set in a five-storey Georgian townhouse, this elegant restaurant attracts business travellers and tourists as well as food loving locals, and the classic French menu is made with produce sourced from Sussex farmers. Perfect for romantic escapes, working lunches and chic dinner parties, the New Steine Bistro boasts a certain je ne sais quois. Expect gourmet Gallic treats such as steak frites with garlic butter and Béarnaise; foie gras de canard, served with warm toast; and crème brulee.
