Went with 5 friends, 3 of us opted for sharing a meat and a vegetarian mixed platter. Really good flavours, you eat your food wrapped in the pancake-like bread. A really different dining experience, great value and a unique dining experience

I went with five friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed the evening and food. Noone was disappointed. Several were on a second or third visit. The Lamb of the bone is mouth watering.

A friend and I shared the delicious vegetarian platter. It was more than enough and very interesting trying all the different flavours. We had a drink each and the total price was £20. The waitress was lovely too. Will definitely visit again!

Had never noticed this quiet eatery, but was intrigued by the description on Meerkat Meals 2 for 1 discount. What an incredible discovery.. Homecooked, healthy and more delicious than the tantalising aroma upon entering. Feasted like Haile Selassie himself for less than 20 quid (only...More

Great food and a great price. Small, unassuming place on a side street. Little rough and ready inside, ‘old café’ style with a few African bits of décor hung around – very ‘Brighton’ in style. Service was good, food was great – woudn’t know how...More

Ethiopian food is one of my faves, was thrilled when this opened and had a couple of fab meals. But even for a laid back caff-style African restaurant, last time we went the service was SO bad we haven't been back yet. We literally could...More

Unassuming premises, operates on a cash only basis, but simply the best food I've had in Brighton. Highly recommended!

We asked Yonas for meat recommendations (that comes with injera) that were spicy. I kid you not, this was the tastiest food I can remember. Perfectly balanced between spicy and hot (although you can have without the heat). Vegetarian is also available. To accompany the...More

Thoroughly enjoyed the Ethiopian experience. Interesting food in an informal setting. Be prepared to dine without cutlery which all adds to the experience.

We visited last Friday night having arrived in Brighton for the weekend. We decided to try this restaurant as we had never tried Ethiopian food. It doesn't look great from the outside and once you are inside you are met with a typical old fashioned...More
