5 stars for the beer - good selection well kept. Maybe 2 stars for the food - mainly average, but avoid the goat curry which was flavourless

Called in here prior to see Bob Dylan at the local concert hall. Lovely food. Lovely beer, but what impressed me the most was the efficient staff who went about their tasks with smiles on their faces. Highly recommended.

Typical, British Pub serving a great range of Ales and some very good food. We had the Goat Curry and something else (memory fails me), both of which were really tasty, and good value. Would go again

This is one of our favourite pubs in Bournemouth. The beer is always kept perfectly. There are always numerous beers on show and guest beers galore. The atmosphere is relaxed. The food is always tasty. Especially the pies. This is a must visit for all real ale fans. You will be spoilt for choice. There is also a meat draw... More

Group of retired workers meet once a month in various pubs for a meal and a pint, usually opting for Real Ale establishments. Good service, food was well presented and tasty, also very reasonably priced. A good selection of ales from pales, reds and dark Porters. Would recommend and will revisit.

Popped in with friends for a drink before meeting others in town. But we never left and the others came to us. DO NOT DRIVE!!! You will definitely be illegal when you leave because you'll want to just keep trying a half of this and a half of that....

We had such fun playing pool. Nice atmosphere and OK to have a relaxing evening. I know they do meals too but we had dinner before so too full. Staff friendly and close to the hotel we stayed so very convenient.

As locals, we have seen this very traditional pub flourish with its excellent choices of quality beers, kept and maintained well. We have also seen the quality and value of the food served, varying from year to year. Currently, this seems to be one of the poorer fare years. Meagre portions of mediocre food served on this occasion. Examples today... More
