For my partners Mum's 80th Philipe recreated a beach scene from an old photograph. The two tier cake was adorned with shells with seagulls flying above sugar figurines of my partners parents. It looked amazing and tasted delicious. Would highly recommend

Two steak pasties were given double thumbs up by the kids, and they were good 'cos I managed to get a bite - nicely seasoned and the potato still had form rather than the mush sometimes found. Quiches were very good - asparagus though obviously...More

Philippe started his career over 30 years ago learning his trade in Paris. He came to England in 1999 to work for Maison Blanc moving on to cater for events such as Wimbledon, Chelsea football club and Twickenham Ruby, to name a few. In 2013 he decided to take his skills and open a patisserie using his own individual French style. He specialising in French center pieces being one of a few in the surrounding area to make these. Having built up his reputation as a leading patisserie in Torquay he is now creating his own line of French style bread. In 2014 he was joined by his partner Lesley. They have created a warm and intimate place to relax, have coffee, and of course enjoy a fabulous cake! The cafe welcomes people of all ages and dogs of any bread!
