Clean tidy and friendly; whether eating in or out. Deceny portions well cooked. Best in the area, I reckon.

What else can I say. Simple, cheap, clean, friendly. If you don't want fancy surroundings, just a plain café close to the Hoe and the Ferry Port, head for West Hoe!

The fish is always ooked fresh and served with a decent portion of chips. We often buyand run the gauntlet with the seagulls at Sutton Harbour.

A well known fish restaurant in Plymouth, but once you have eaten there you will know why, food is nice and fresh and not greasy, plenty of choice and you can eat in or out, but on a nice sunny day why not walk round the corner to the Hoe and eat your meal looking over the lovely views to... More

What a surprise! I think this place is better than the winner of the best fish and chips in U.K. The owner is super friendly and could even say Peace be upon you! The fish is so fresh, it melts in your mouth, the batter is just right, and chips when it's just freshly served is so good. Best to... More

I have been using this chippy for over ten years! Since my ITV digital days! It is by far one of the best chippies in Plymouth. I now often travel 5 miles to get food from here. Food is great, staff are lovely. In regard to precious reviews. I like the fact this business had been owed by the same... More

The best fish and chips in Plymouth! Over and above the overpriced and not super friendly rock fish. Friendly, welcoming, great fresh locally caught fish and freshly cooked chips, priced well.

Personally I don't do 'personally plus' characters playing at Mr HAPPY behind the counter. It's usually a front. The food is nice but the portions are getting smaller and smaller. Pity.

Description
There are a few fast food eat in and out food places in
Plymouth some of which have a modest cult status in the city either because of their prominent and convenient position or because of a consistent reputation. West Hoe Fryers has such a reputation for being close to the Hoe foreshore and parkland and foe taking care to maintain traditional standards. There is a steady faytime trade and often a queue for the cafe eating area. Worth a Tripadvisor listing.
