Had Fish chips and mushy peas twice sitting in to eat - all freshly cooked to order - brilliant - chippie has regular clientele so you may not get a table but don't worry - Plymouth Hoe only couple of minutes walking so you can sit and have great views.

I have been here many times even though it's not hugely local to me. The fish and chips are simply the best I've eaten in plymouth. Each time. No contest. Light flakey fresh fish, crispy but not over cooked batter. The service is great. No problems doing fish without batter if requested. Pleasant and humorous while waiting (be prepared for... More

The guy that owns this shop not only cooks the best fish and chips i have ever tasted, but he is a great character, with a great memory. I go to Plymouth 5 to 6 times a year and use this place when i am down. He never forgets a face, always got a quip and a smile and loves... More

Went to the new location at the Barbican. Small portions, average quality and prices much higher than the others. Harbourside next door is a much better value.

We had takeaway fish and chips ourselves - though others were dining in and smiling. Our takeaway was served quickly - given the well deserved queue of hungry customers - and tasted great. Good honest fish and chips - say no more. Thanks

This is an excellent fish & chip shop. The food was very good and served very promptly. You can see it being cooked on the range. The prices are very reasonable and the steady stream of customers tells you the quality is good.

Description
There are a few fast food eat in and out food places in
Plymouth some of which have a modest cult status in the city either because of their prominent and convenient position or because of a consistent reputation. West Hoe Fryers has such a reputation for being close to the Hoe foreshore and parkland and foe taking care to maintain traditional standards. There is a steady faytime trade and often a queue for the cafe eating area. Worth a Tripadvisor listing.
