Just had a yummy lunch at The Terrace on a lovely Sunday sunny afternoon. Views are incredible, lunch was very lovely and service pretty quick despite it being very busy. We had a Greek salad and a toasted panini ... yummy!

We wrongly presumed that The Terrace Cafe would be a real tourist trap ... as its located just off Plymouth Hoe and overlooks Plymouth Sound. Far from it ! Great food and value for money, with friendly staff and service. The fresh Plymouth crab was excellent - and sitting in the sun with a beer, overlooking the harbour was a... More

Great location & varied menu. I'm afraid that's where the real positives end.....the menu itself needs a bit of a clean up as do the tables....all beginning to look tatty. Having to queue up to order was a bit of a down point as well. The food however did arrive reasonably quickly and my crab sandwich was overflowing with crab.... More

Quite frankly one of the most beautiful spots in the city. However the service is AWFUL. It took us an hour to get 2 coffees and a portion of chips (easiest 'snack' going). We chased it up with three people when tables around us, that arrived after, got food before us but no one did anything! Car parking ran out... More

this cafe is set in the cliff edge on Plymouth Hoe on Madiera Road.It is more a cabin where they serve you from the window and everyone is outside sat over a couple of levels, when the sun is out its marvellous, looking right out over Plymouth Sound and Drakes Island and over the River Tamar to Cornwall. I tend to just... More

We visited today as we wanted somewhere nice to sit and have lunch in the nice weather. As it was such a beautiful day we were not surprised to find the venue busy but luckily arrived just as another party was leaving so we took their table straight away. My boyfriend took the dishes, etc back to the bar and... More

Such a shame that the service in this is place is horrendously slow. Massive queues on a nice day and they just plod along. Food came out in a reasonable time, with no cutlery. Asked if we get our own and the lady said she would get it for us. About 5 minutes later she came back with it. Just... More

On an unexpectedly warm and sunny afternoon in March, we found the Terrace on Plymouth Hoe with a spectacular view of the Sound and a delicious crab dish that we all enjoyed while soaking up the sun. Nothing pretentious here but extremely popular and with good reason.

After ordering a bacon and egg roll and a cappuccino I was charged over £7 then I occurred a £1 charge to pay by debit card. For a cafe that only has outdoor seating these prices seem a little steep. I'm sad because this is my favourite cafe along the hoe but the prices mean I won't be coming back.

Description
Been a daytime snack bar built into old cliff face. Now advertising widely as offering full meals with new chef and open till late evening. A novelty facility in this area. Mixed reports of the food and the weather proofing. Needs comments.
