We are a Sunday lunch here which came with a live jazz band. The ambience here is lovely, especially if you are wine lovers like us and their wine library is extensive, as you would expect. We thought the service was great especially as they...told us they were under staffed. The roast came on a board which was particularly appealing to us. The food was good and the portions were generous too. The reason we only give 3 stars is the price. We ordered a pre dinner drink each and had a £30 bottle of wine (only a few pounds above their cheapest bottle). When the bill came it was just shy of £90. We eat out in Devon a lot and this is the most we have ever paid for what is essentially only a 1 course meal with wine. We have paid similar prices at similar restaurants in Plymouth, e.g. The Fig @36 and The Barbican Kitchen but these have been for 2 & 3 courses. We would recommend going as a treat, but this price is quite prohibitive for what you get.More

We prebooked for lunchtime and actually turned up early but went straight to our table. We had the fish platter which was plentiful and a lovely mix which we thoroughly enjoyed. All the staff were very good and extremely attentive and helpful and made our...meal really enjoyable.More

First time here after passing it last month. Ordered a table outside on the sofa for two. First and foremost this is a wine bar with an extensive range of wines in their onsite wine library. They also have a wide selection of spirits including...my favourite- Rum For a place that puts wine as their primary subject the food is a very close second. Excellent sharing platters for 2 or 4 persons. Note on a 2 platter you get 2x choices of meat and cheese and for a platter for 4 you get 3x choices of meat and cheese - this is not too clear on the menu. My wife and I are big eaters but the platter for 2 plus pigs in blankets ( giant size) and some skinny fries was plenty- don’t worry if you don’t manage it all as there are doggie bags available. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and Kate, our waitress was a delight to chat to with both a sound knowledge of the menu and wines. Situated by the quayside the outlook over the harbour is very pleasing. Desserts were provided by Daisy Mae and were delicious to look at as well as to eat. In between courses loose yourself by studying the vast array of global wines in the wine library, literally a wall of wine. Highly recommended, we will be returning again later this month with friends!More

Spent a rather enjoyable 4 hours lunch catching up with a friend over excellent wine and a fantastic deli platter. The baked camembert was out of this world. Fitz, the owner, was very friendly and knowledgeable. The staff were attentive but not too in our...faces. We were seated outside on a sunny day, overlooking the harbour, and time just flew. Being from Manchester, I found this to be exceptional value for money, at least 1/3 cheaper than I'm used to. Already booked in again to try the seafood platter in a couple of weeks time. If you're reading this Fitz, open your second in Westhoughton!More

My husband took me last night for birthday, the atmosphere and setting were amazing. Had a good look through the menu and decided on the meat platter which looked and sounded amazing. Well when it arrived it was missing the cold meat selection which the...waitress apologised for and promptly supplied, then realised we didn’t have any cutlery again apologised and supplied. We were enjoying the platter until we started on the chicken wings which was raw and bloody near the bone. I asked to speak to the manager who was very apologetic but then said it had been cooked twice and sometimes it can be bloody near the bone ! Ok but not raw as our chicken was. She did take money off our bill but to be honest it put us offMore

Wonderful welcome for our first visit, everything explained and the atmosphere was relaxed but comfortable. We had preordered the large sharing platter and we were able to see them preparing it from the open kitchen . The food was really lovely , lots of different...tastes and a really wide variety of cheeses , meats and pickles and chutney. We enjoyed the bread and crackers and the wine really complimented the food . We came to Plymouth to see the firework championship but the evening was really made perfect by our visit here.More

Amazing!!!!!! Staff are really welcoming. We had a sharing board for 4. It was amazing. We couldnt eat all the cheeses so the lovely waitress boxed them up for us to take home. I could eat here everyday if i could. And let me tell...you about the toilets!!!!!! no trouble has been spared in providing sanitary products for ladies, deodorants, body lotions etc. Everything has been thought of. Cant fault it.More

Our wedding Anniversary so we visited somewhere we wanted to visit being someone who enjoyed wine and good food. We ordered a pre drink of red leg rum and diet coke but unfortunately they had no diet coke so we had to share a cola...for two full fat not a great start to the evening. We ordered seperate food dishes of the menu not the famous sharing board and a bottle of rec wine. Only to be told our wine was not available considering a limited choice of wine available it was disappointing. We chose an alternative but it was a shame on such a nice place to eat and drink. Lovely ambiance and location a wonky table which was not ideal. Alot of money but a nice treat. Not the standard we expectecMore

Really great place! Fantastic food, drink, service and atmosphere. The sharing platter was a brilliant way to try multiple dishes. All of the ingredients were really good quality. The place has a great feel to it and has been decorated very well! Highly recommended!
