How on earth do they clean, dust the restaurant to keep it clean? We were gobsmacked to see all the drapings and dust! One could hardly move for clutter! We were surprised that the food were so well presented and tasted ok, but don't know...More

I go there really often and I've brought many people there, all said it was fab! The food is delicious, so flavourful... A lot of veggie options! I highly recommend their seven vegetable tagine for main and chocolate halva for dessert. Mezzes are great too....More

A small family dinner to celebrate my three score years and ten. An excellent variety of dishes beautifully prepared and really tasty. I loved the atmosphere there - the only thing that spoiled it was a diner at the next table who was going on...More

Staff was very friendly and accommodating, we were offered a table inside in first place which was cosy but we preferred outside as the weather was lovely and summery. We had lamb tagine and chicken & apricot tagine, both arrived sizzling hot, fresh and tasty....More

We arrived at Al Farid just after 8.00 on a Thursday evening without having made a booking. Despite being busy, the lady in charge sat us down in the balcony area until a table became available for the two of us. We were offered menus...More

This is not like any restaurant experience you've had before - unless you travel in the Middle East. Weirdly, stepping in from the awesomely English Cathedral Green, you're not in Exeter any more, but in a beautiful, sumptuous Middle Eastern retreat with low floor cushions,...More

Wonderful food and great service. Fun place too. Lots of choices for vegetarians. We got the unlimited meal and we had trouble eating half of what was brought to our table.

Really good restaurant. Quite authentic dishes with fresh ingredients, I just had a selection of tapas including haloumi, humus with minced lamb, moussaka and moroccan potatoes. Honest, it is more like a Turkish/Greek meze rahter than Moroccan. Good anyway.

Description
Welcome to Al-Farid Mezz Bar & RestaurantUmar ibn ‘Al-Farid’ was an Arab poet, his poetry is entirely suffic ,and he was esteemed mystic poet of the Arabs. Our head chef has created a thoughtful menu that delights the taste buds. A firm favourite is the mezze, an array of small succulent dishes. The mezze comprised both cold and hot dishes and offers a wealth of colour flavour, texture and aroma. An attribute of Moroccan food is the fact that is healthy as well as tasty and filling.A choice of traditional Moroccan dessert is an offer to complements the meal, expect Baklava a sweet pastry, and Mhallableyh, rice pudding with rose water. Also the drink menu is Moroccan national drink, Arak, which has an aniseed base, and a variety of fruit juices. To finish your meal you cannot miss out on one of our Moroccan coffee, flavoured wit natural cardamom, cinnamon or rose water. No bona fide Moroccan meal complete without smoking an authentic hooka pipe. Each day the water pipes are packed with fresh flavoured tobaccos, choose between apples, strawberry, cherry, rose, grape or fruit cocktail.
