We were travelling home to Bristol from Cornwall and was looking for somewhere for Sunday lunch, not having booked. I had eaten here before so stopped on the off chance not least because lunch time was getting out. The really helpful staff found us a table and served us quickly and helpfully. We had the carvery. It was really good... More

On the whole a decent carvery for sunday lunch. Good service and pleasant atmosphere. Plates could have been a little bit bigger as hard to fit the food on even though I had an average portion.

We met family here for sunday lunch, the food was old and cold, the service was exceptionally bad, and they seated in the play area. We were the only table in that area and were surrounded but shouting, screaming children running wild whilst their parents were in other areas of the restaurant totally oblivious and uncaring. The staff weren't concerned... More

We appreciate your comments but are totally surprised as you know we we're busy that day and you were the only person to complain. If you weren't happy in the dining area that you were seated we would have tried to move you into the main rest area but we were fully booked! The carvery itself was tested for temperature... More

Usually greeted. Staff here are welcoming and get to you as soon as they can. If you come here for a roast, please keep in mind you can't get seconds! :-( Reasonably priced I recommend the burgers here, you can build your own.

Found Twisted Oak after a google search Had young niece with us after a morning of house hunting, wanted some where to sit discuss viewings and have a bite to eat whilst niece let off steam and had some fun. (it was raining) Indoor play area had plenty of stuff to keep niece occupied, had to drag her away in... More

Booking for Sunday Lunch was easy. They have set times but thats ok. We finally managed to get a member of staff to show us to our seats which were in the conservatory. I should have asked to be moved as soon as I saw the waitress's moving tables together for a large party of guests. It was a freezing... More

We popped in after arriving home from holiday to a freezing cold house, fancied a roast and visited after reading their website "Our ever growing famous Sunday Carvery in Exeter, runs from midday till late evening" we arrived around 6.30 the carvery was well and truly closed (if I'm honest seeing what was left I was fairly pleased!) We ordered... More

Hello, firstly thank you for taking the time to review us, however i must point out that the carvery is advertised until 6pm subject to availability, we never run it after 6pm so when you arrived we were in process of cleaning down! As for the carrot situation it is stated on the menu as carrot sticks, a lot of... More

We were disappointed with the quality of the food, very bog standard. Fish was thin and dry with thick over- cooked batter. Service good and atmosphere quiet. Would not recommend this pub for food.
