Our B&B host recommended the pirates rest, was lovely fish and chips. Took away to have on the promenade on a very nice mild evening. Great location, friendly staff, also recommended other places in the area that were to suitable to us. Thank you :)

After a recent disappointing fish and chips takeaway elsewhere I decided to give The Pirates Rest a try. I was not let down! It may only have been a simple cod and chips but it was fresh tasting, chips nicely cooked through and crispy batter...More

All the food is cooked to order so the fish tasted absolutely incredible! Great portion sizes and hardly any wait considering.

You no longer need to look for a better fish and chip shop, as this is it! Never had a bad meal from this place. Never had any faults. Everything is perfectly cooked. Consistently good. Highly recommend.

This used to be a favorite and regular friday dinners had from here, but over the past couple of years we've noticed portions shrinking and prices rising time after time, even as regular locals whom one would expect to be 'kept happy' through the summer...More

Dear kai-pz, Thank you for your review regarding our rip off prices. I do not see 3 price rises over 5 years to be excessive considering the rate of cost increase our industry has seen in the past 5 years. The rate of increase of...More

Was on a shopping trip to Penzance when we dropped into the Pirate for a meal. Was pleasantly surprised by the service and quality of the food served. Will be back soon.

Hi, yes we cook all our chips in beef dripping as it is the traditional way to cook fish and chips. We do jacket potatoes but no vegetarian friendly chips. Thank you for asking.

Sorry, I'm afraid I can't help - we were staying at a nearby hotel and had come without our car. It's in a side street off the promenade, so I imagine parking in the evening is not too bad.
