My favourite fish and chip shop in the area by a country mile. We go back year after year, I heartily recommend it.

I arrived quite late and was hovering outside as I had my dog in tow. Staff saw my dog was well-behaved and said I could sit in as long as the dog was good. Food was delicious, copious and a nice pot of tea. A...More

I don't normally have shop bought fish & chips as I find them too greasy & soggy battered fish but both were excellent from the Pirates Rest in Penzance, I would definitely recommend them

There are several choices on the fish and chip front in Penzance and we've tried a few. The Pirates Rest is one of the better ones. Really good fresh fish and crispy batter. Kids said the chips are lovely too. Cheers guys...

Really disappointing! Fish was over battered and overcooked having been made to order. Chips were soggy over cooked and not crisp at all plus the vinegar had no taste what so ever. First time I've ever thrown away fish because not eating it was more...More

Dear Peter F, We can only apologise for your poor meal, we pride ourselves on our light crispy batter and this obviously concerns me as I would have prepared you food myself, as for the chips, yes they do come out a little dark at...More

Really a chippie with a cafe room - friendly staff and great quality generous food - unlicensed so we settled for soft drinks. I think the fish was in the sea that morning!

Friendliest staff in town, brilliant food, scampi is superb, cod wonderful, batter is very crispy and light. The cod is creamy and not overcooked. Great REAL chips, made from proper potatoes !

Corner position on a side street off the front that is very popular with locals as well as tourists. Good opening hours and fish cooked to order. Mushy peas are very good. Worth a visit

Sorry, I'm afraid I can't help - we were staying at a nearby hotel and had come without our car. It's in a side street off the promenade, so I imagine parking in the evening is not too bad.
