We were told to go there for fish and it didn't disappoint. A fairly quiet Monday evening but a lovely atmosphere overlooking the harbour. Staff brilliant, fish and chips brilliant too. Varied menu for the more adventurous. Definitely be back!

My friend and I found this place on trip advisor as we were searching especially for a fish restaurant. The menu drew us here and I am so glad we made the right choice. We pretty much had all of the starters to share and my word they really were stunning!! Best fish I have ever had. Cooked and seasoned... More

Arrived quite late on a Tuesday night, had not booked but restaurant only had one other table of diners. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and the views of the small harbour are stunning. The service was good and the waitress was very friendly. I went with two friends and we all ordered the same meal, scallops to start and... More

Went for an evening meal whilst on a girls weekend away and found this a perfect place for a seafood lover! The food was excellent and very fresh with the crab and lobster being selected from the pools just outside! Despite the rain the view was lovely too overlooking the harbour. They had no problems accommodating 12 of us and... More

We were told by locals to come here and we were glad they sent us. Leaving it until late afternoon to enquire about availability was not the wisest option. With the restaurant being booked out until 9pm, we were told to leave our name and they would contact us should availability open. Thinking this would not happen, we got the... More

I never usually write reviews but this truly is a hidden gem in Cornwall! The staff were attentive and warming, with the food being absolutely perfect! Me and my partner had a massive platter full of lobster, crab, and mussels in a creamy sauce..which we both enjoyed getting our hands dirty with the tools and learning how to remove the... More

You couldn't wish for a better location than the Boathouse in Newquay, it's right on the harbour wall overlooking fishing boats. The wooden structure is cosy and rustic. When we arrived it was packed with diners and that's always a good sign. The four of us all had the Hake on bed of herb mash...excellent. On the way in there... More

We found this understated restaurant by accident on our first night here. Wow! Friendly staff, and seafood so fresh you walk past it on your way in, still swimming! Rick Stein, eat your heart out. This place is rustic, stunning food and with all the relaxing party atmosphere that Rick used to have before he became famous. The lobster is... More

Found this by chance as was in the car on the way to a hotel and our dogs needed a run, so it was the nearest stretch of sand. They loved their run and when settled back into the car, my other half suggested lunch here. It was perfect. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was tasty... More

We were quite disappointed in Boathouse after being quite expectant. My wife was looking forward to Oysters which had run out then ordered another dish, also run out. We really should have run out then ourselves, but persevered. Restaurant was chokka and we were at the end next to a family enjoying a very noisy and active. Kids running around... More
