Visitied the Pub for the first time since new ownership. Not impressed with how the food hygiene was handled at the Carvery Station. Saw the chef place a yorkshire pud on someone's plate with his hands and also saw him separating a fresh batch of carrots with his hands.I pointed out that there was a black hair on one of... More

Fabulous meal, well cooked, well presented. Nothing was too much trouble. The stuffed mushroom starter was the most delicious starter ever tasted.

Sunday evening in mid-November and this good pub, in an inland village, is busy – which speaks volumes for the quality of food and service attracting such loyalty. Our table of old friends were offered a carvery choice of roast beef, roast turkey or roast gammon, in small, medium or large portions, or even a bit of each! Meat was... More

We travelled to St Newlyn East as an extended family of six and a dog. We visited this pub a few times because we were staying in a cottage that was a short walk away. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The dog (a young Cocker Spaniel) was made welcome with special areas for dogs. The... More

Not far from Newquay you will find the village of St. Newlyn East which has a lovely old church & a nice old country pub. The staff there are very friendly, they have some good beer & cider & food to tempt you. This is a nice place to relax & rest a while.

A good selection of beers, lovely food and very helpful, friendly staff. It gets busy, even during the off-peak season, so would strongly recommend booking in advance if you plan to eat there.

We booked a table for eight on a busy Friday evening. We were looked after very well and we enjoyed the whole experience in this friendly, village pub with a mixed clientele. When we arrived, the table was already laid up near the bar among other diners, close but not short of room. We ordered drinks at the bar and... More

Having come here for a number of years we were looking forward to the changes. Unfortunately the meal had changed for the worse. The service was fine but our main courses were cold and we had to send them back. My wife's fish dish came back fine but my re cooked Gammon steak looked like it was the last piece in... More
