Been here a few years ago, was good then and is still great for evening dinner in the bar. Had a rump steak dinner, was perfect. Staff very friendly. Not a lot of parking, back car park was full at 5.45. Had to park on road.

The Griffin Inn is not just a pub and restaurant, it is also a good hotel. The rooms are comfortable and adequately equipped and very reasonably priced. The major benefits to staying here are that there is free car parking on site, it is central in Newquay and, of course, it has a very good restaurant. the food is plentiful... More

We were stopping next door so came for Steak night on Saturday night. 2 steaks & a bottle of wine for £30. We enjoyed it so we booked for Sunday Carvery night. I am not a lover of Carveries but we went early and must admit the food was very good. Meat was plentiful & potatoes & veg were all... More

We use the Griffin inn on a regular basis for the Sunday Carvery which is amazing with a choice of 3 meats and a huge choice of fresh veg. We must try the normal menu as if it's as good as the Carvery it's not to be missed.

This place caught my eye on a recent visit to Newquay. Fish and chips were amazing, wish I had had more time to visit again. Staff friendly food served quickly .

We visited The Griffin whilst staying at The Victoria Hotel. We ordered the belly pork and scampi. The main course was acceptable without being exceptional. For dessert, we had the triple chocolate brownie with ice cream which was nice. However, the meringue nest with fruit and clotted cream was rather pathetic. It consisted of an extremely small supermarket meringue base... More

We were staying at the Victoria Hotel so went along for a Sunday Evening Carvery. We had booked a table and were shown to the table quickly. But then left for a while. There was an oldish guy doing most of the waiting duties. He was quite dour. He took our orders without any pleasantries and didn't volunteer any information.... More

The Griffin was part of the Atlantic Ale Trail (Par to Newquay) so I was slightly disappointed by the Real Ale on offer. The food was good but a little expensive in my view. Staff were very friendly.
