Had a real bad belly etc all night and morning! Think the prawns on reflection were undercooked. I thought they were just ok but they were not, should of sent them back. Not been able to go to work today. More attention to cooking times is needed.
On City Road adjacent to a number of other restaurants and an approx. 300m walk south from Chester railway station. Small, seats around 40 diners plus a few tables upstairs. Traditional table layout with limited space between, hence conversations can be overheard which might not suit some. Menu was typical for a curry house and we found that the quality... More
I'm a regular customer at City Spice and the food is always fantastic. Its reasonably priced and the staff are welcoming and friendly. I've taken many friends here and all have agreed that the food is spot on!
We visited on New Years eve. From the moment we walked in, we were made very welcome and seated very quickly. The menu on offer has a good variety of choice. Food was served in a timely manner and was of good quality. When in Chester next, we will return again.
Called in here early Friday and surprised to find the restaurant quite empty. Not so the restaurant next door.....feeling slightly apprehensive we ordered our meal and quite honestly it was lovely......can't understand why it's not so popular. Ok, the deco is quite plain but the staff are friendly and the service is prompt.
We went to City Spice on Boxing Day.We received a warm and friendly welcome. Our meals were delicious.I had lamb bhuna and my partner had chicken tikka patia. An excellent evening Thanks
Got a takeout from here. I really enjoyed it. The king prawn puri was well spiced and came on a lovely puri. I had one of the lamb specials which had nice lamb - not gristly or chewy. The aubergine side was full of flavour. It was good value as well and definitely would use them again.
Visited on a Saturday night but we should have listened to our instincts as City Spice was empty and the similar restaurant next door was packed. The meals were cool sliced meat in a hot watery tomato based sauce which all tasted the same except the Korma which was very good.
