We were recently recommended this place so decided to visit. Lovely smiley welcome, great beers and great food. And the setting is stunning. We would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. The beer choices were excellent and the bar satff very helpful. We loved the medieval hall setting so decided to order food. This was very well cooked and really tasty -not just "pub" food. If you are visiting Chester this...More

We returned to the Brewery Tap a year after our first visit and it did not disappoint. The beer is great, the staff are nice and we ordered a beef pie and wedges that was delicious. The layout is grand, yet the atmosphere is relaxing....More

If you like real ale this is a great choice. We met friends and had a good catch up over a few drinks before deciding to eat. we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food - well worth it!

The Tap offers a wide selection of ales and at least one hand-pull cider served by friendly staff. The building is a Jacobean great hall that provides a lovely setting: it is worth buying a pint just to see the room alone!

Spitting Feathers ales and many others. This is a pub which offers a great range of ales, many from the SF brewery. The staff are friendly and service is quick. Nice decor and reasonable prices.

Popped in today to sample a pint. Lad & lass behind the bar. One customer had just been served. Both staff then commenced clearing the bar of glasses and plates without so much of an acknowledgement of my presence. Not going back in a hurry!
