Maitre d' gave us a brilliant welcome with his great sense of humour. He arranged for us to meet Daniel Clifford, who was charming and welcoming into his surprisingly tiny kitchen. He especially cooked us our scallops which were delicious - his signature dish. The...More

We waited a couple of months for our booking at Midsummer House and it was so worth it. In no particular order: 1) Being greeted by name at the door 2) Attentive, knowledgeable, swift but not claustrophobic service 3) Delicious food from start to finish...More

Not for a second during the entire evening spent at the Midsummer House did I question the Michelin stars they hold. The service was second to none. Every element of every dish is so well thought out, it hurt my head. The wine pairings were...More

Absolutely fantastic meal here - had the 8 course tasting menu for dinner which is nearer 11 courses with the amuse bouche and chocolates at the end. Very high quality food and every course was imaginative and beautifully served. Tables in the dining room are...More

Yes, we had a lovely time (but we do tend to enjoy life) but no I won’t be back, nor will I be recommending it. Amuse bouche were rushed through, which was a shame as they were some of the more original flavours on the...More

The food was amazing and well presented. The flavours were just out of this world and is hard to see how they can get so much flavour out of food. My favourites were the grouse (melt in the mouth) and the pate on sour dough...More

Second time eating here. First time October last year. Prices have gone up a bit (thanks Brexit) and the wine list is extensive, impressive but pretty expensive even by my experience of similar restaurants. The food is very good, cooked to the highest standard with...More

Description
With its divine location right on the River Cam, Midsummer House is among East Anglias best restaurants. Once youve finished punting down the river and taking in the sights and sounds of the beautiful university city of Cambridge, pay Midsummer House a visit. Relaxed and elegant, with a sunny conservatory and perfect al fresco dining for warm summer evenings, this modern British restaurant offers a wide range of creative dishes with a sophisticated touch learned by Chef Patron Daniel Clifford throughout his years in Britain and Frances best restaurants. Passionate about ingredients, Clifford even uses the harvest from Midsummer Houses own 80 year old apple trees in his cookery.
