After a horrible journey up the M11 and then braving hailstones walking across Midsummer Common, we arrived for our first visit to Midsummer House a little bit frazzled ! What followed for the next best part of 4 hours made every thing worthwhile. We booked a Saturday lunch to celebrate my birthday so were able to enjoy the 8 course... More

My husband and i were lucky enough to visit Midsummer House last night and had the most wonderful culinary experience ever. I was a bit nervous about going because I had never visited a 2 Michellin Star restaurant before and thought it might be a bit pretentious. But it was fantastic. The staff were kind, considerate and humorous and made... More

My husband and I went for lunch at Midsummer House and had a fantastic time-well worth the travelling for. The food was excellent, staff great and atmosphere good too. The outstanding dishes in my view were the fillet of lemon sole and the dessert of pear, blueberry and white chocolate. The little extras added to the enjoyment of the meal... More

Returned after a couple of years away to what had to be one of the top five places we have eaten to celebrate my mother-in-law's 70th. The food was as good as I remembered, several items were similar but tweaked, one that remained the same was the quail with eggs and the most delicious sour dough toast with pate on.... More

I visited this with a group of colleagues and we had the private dinning experience . First thing to note no car park so you have to take your chance over the bridge in the street or at Park Street multi storey which is a 10 minute walk. My colleague and I were very wet upon arrival and as soon... More

Finding it was a bit of a challenge but once inside gate we were welcomed warmly by the MaitreD and shown into the beautiful garden to relax before lunch. Champagne and fabulous canapes were certainly the perfect way to start my special Birthday Lunch. When everything was ready we were shown into the lovely light and airy dining room that... More

From the warm greeting on the door to the elegant dining area, this place served a faultless 5 course lunch. Champagne trolley, amuses bouches, tremendous food, great service: what was not to like? The smoked pumpkin veloutte: 5 stars. The sole and prawn with seaweed hollandaise and samphire: 5 stars +. The duck Breast and duck leg confit - delicious... More

We went to Midsummer house as a party of 6 to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday. We all concluded that it was the best restaurant we have ever been to. Myself and my husband live in London and have been to some of the best restaurants in London, which now looking back really didn't compare to what we experienced at... More

Just amazing. The knowledge of the staff unbelievable nothing to much trouble. Food unbelievable. Takes you to another level. If I'd had the money I would of tipped the staff more as they were so brilliant at explaining every dish and some more. If you can you need to do the Cheese board.

With its divine location right on the River Cam, Midsummer House is among East Anglias best restaurants. Once youve finished punting down the river and taking in the sights and sounds of the beautiful university city of Cambridge, pay Midsummer House a visit. Relaxed and elegant, with a sunny conservatory and perfect al fresco dining for warm summer evenings, this modern British restaurant offers a wide range of creative dishes with a sophisticated touch learned by Chef Patron Daniel Clifford throughout his years in Britain and Frances best restaurants. Passionate about ingredients, Clifford even uses the harvest from Midsummer Houses own 80 year old apple trees in his cookery.
