Visited with family for lunch. The service is impeccable and we felt very relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our first visit. We all chose the set lunch with flight of wines, which thankfully meant I didn't have to wade through the impressive wine list....More

We have been coming to this restaurant for around 30 years and have had some wonderful meals. But I think with his revamp Mr CLifford has lost his way a bit. My starter of crab and prawns was uninispiring and the prawns still had the...More

Renowned for tasting menus but revamping premises and menu to include a la carte. Can't wait to see what they offer, launch date is early April and 100% sure they will excel yet again. Of course it's not cheap - how could it be -...More

We had a wonderful lunch to celebrate our anniversary and even had a greeting card on our table! After some difficulty finding the restaurant - a sign on the garden wall by the river would have saved us 10 minute walk in the wrong direction!...More

So everything was perfect. They catered for both of us well, and my partner had the international flight of wine - which was with generous servings. We loved all the courses, though on one occasion the adaption for vegetarian with no alcohol did cause one...More

We started with a drink in the upstair salon, followed more champagne and canapés. Then walked back downstairs for our 8 course meal with paired wines, interrupted by an additional plate of cheese with more wine. We ended the evening with coffee and a selection...More

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food is very good, albeit served in miniscule portions. They are a bit up themselves though.

8 course tasting menu with their flight of wines, about £250 p/p. Wonderful food but difficult to give you the menu as it changes regularly.

Description
With its divine location right on the River Cam, Midsummer House is among East Anglias best restaurants. Once youve finished punting down the river and taking in the sights and sounds of the beautiful university city of Cambridge, pay Midsummer House a visit. Relaxed and elegant, with a sunny conservatory and perfect al fresco dining for warm summer evenings, this modern British restaurant offers a wide range of creative dishes with a sophisticated touch learned by Chef Patron Daniel Clifford throughout his years in Britain and Frances best restaurants. Passionate about ingredients, Clifford even uses the harvest from Midsummer Houses own 80 year old apple trees in his cookery.
