Excellent meal and atmosphere. Staff very friendly. We all had a great time. Itching was too much trouble.

Drove from Hampshire to the area to visit a local company. Searched the internet for pubs in the area and found there to be an abundance of "gastro pubs" but we were looking for traditional pub lunches. The Poacher looked to be just what we were looking for. This turned out to be a great choice. The landlord was welcoming,... More

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon while passing through and greatly enjoyed it! The owner and wtaff were friendly and service was top notch. The christmas decorations were up and it was such a lovely home feeling set in a great country location! I would definitely recommend stopping in!

Visited the Poacher whilst staying in Cambourne about a four mile drive away. A quaint country pub with a very welcoming landlord. A relatively limited menu but with some innovative dishes and nice local produce. Great food and service in nice ambient setting. Would definitely recommend a visit.

My boyfriend & I were staying in Cambourne for the weekend so I booked the Poacher for dinner on the Friday night, not knowing the area at all. It's a lovely pub with great food. The landlord was very friendly & hospitable. He was telling us about his husky & bought him down for us to see at the end... More

Visited here with two boys in the summer to make a change from institutional food (we were staying at one of the university colleges). The boys loved the thatched roof ambience and friendly welcome from the owner, his staff and the locals by the bar. Not only that, the food was great and we spent a lovely evening until it... More

Passing thro village, saw this really lovely looking village pub. Unfortunately dont drink beer, so cannot comment on this, but, our lunch was "good pub grub" and we went away happy.
