Eight friends have met at The George for several years now - for a 'Reunion'. We've been friends since the fifties. We've always been well treated by the staff. Usually we have the side room - but a group of 'walkers' were there - so we were given a very pleasant table in the restaurant. We were dealt with promptly... More

We were a party of 11 put in a cold back room. We were left waiting far too long for our order to be taken so had to go and find someone to take it. We asked for water for the table and not enough glasses were brought, nor enough water. We didn't see the server again to ask for... More

A well presented establishment with good beer and food. Maybe a pound or two more expensive than most but well worth the difference. Friendly service but I do wish that proprietors trained their staff in the menu. So when you ask "what is xyz?" they don't have to go to the kitchen and ask.

Lovely little pub, only a 30 minute drive from Bristol. Staff were all very friendly and the food is perfectly priced. £4.25 for a good sized kids meal and I ate from the 2 courses for £10 board. I had Tomato soup to start and a steak burger for a main which was good for the price paid. The skinny... More

Sometimes the descriptions on menus are misleading at best, sometimes simply dishonest. Not so the George and its excellent deli burger. A good half pounder cooked just right. Then an excellent espresso. Good service and a generally pleasant ambiance. Just right.

Occasionally call in here on way to the West Country. I believe I have reviewed the George previously but not for a while. It stays pretty much the same except for the bar staff who change periodically. The food is basic good quality pub grub. Decent food, agreeable wine. Well satisfied, no doubt will call again at some stage.

Visited The George after work on Monday with friends, their daughter and a dog. Despite being busy we were served quickly by lovely staff. We ordered food a bit later, would thoroughly recommend the moules mariniere, which came with finger bowl and a bowl for the shells - delicious. All of us enjoyed it immensely.
