The Seven Stars (Newmarket Road) is one of Cambridge's oldest pubs. This Grade ll listed building was originally constructed during the early to mid-19th century. During 2014 complete renovation took place to give the interior a fresh, modern look. In addition to a wide selection of drinks including lagers, wines and champagne, we also serve a wide selection of Indian dishes from our modernised kitchen. Indian food has a history of more than 5000 years, with influences from various groups and cultures - including Mughals, British and Portuguese empires. We stay at Premier Inn on Newmarket Rd when we visit our granddaughter who lives at Great Shelford,we originally paid an arm & leg for a restaurant just up the Rd that say they are fine dining?! They are aiming for a more 'upmarket' trade...encouraging the more wealthy end of the Cambridge community. We are actually from Chesterfield & have eaten Asian food which we both love across the country, from my home town in Southampton to my husband's in Sheffield & this place is one of the nicest we have had.U deserve to be busy,we had food on both nights of our stay, from lamb Biriani to prawn moilee naan's proper saffron pillau, prawns succulent & cooked to perfection.Thank's guys in these troubled times in have made our weekend complete 🥰👍🏼😋More
We had the stuffed paneer tikka, Butter Chicken Masala, a mixed vegetable curry, Tarka Dall with a "Rocket" Naan (spicy) and a "Date & Coconut" Naan. All delicious, really interesting menu, cant wait to go back
On a recent weekend break with friends to Cambridge, we took it in turns to choose restaurants to dine out. Not living in the area, I came across the Seven Stars by chance and the name says it all.
The friendly service you could not...fault, the food was excellent from the start. Our mains centred around the chicken shashliks. They were fantastic, everything was first class.
We could not fault anything about the Seven Stars. The service from the from of house, to the chef and his team in the kitchen, everything was first class.
It’s a pity that the review only go to 5 stars and not 7. Please keep up the good work.
We would recommend you go and see for yourself. I’m sure you will not be disappointed. We will be going hack when we are next in the area.More
We loved this restaurant. The staff was so lovely and the food scrumptious! Good portions too! They went over and beyond to make our little one (toddler) feel welcome, they even give her treats before food arrived as she was really hungry and were really...patient with us when she got sick. These was an lovely restaurant experience for us, and we will be definitely be coming back!More
