Visited here with froends for a birthday bash. The food was excellent and the surroundings lovely. Definitely worth a visit.

A really memorable lunch with gorgeous friends and in a beautiful restaurant. All our food was just exquisite. The lobster, the steaks just perfect, as were the starters and desserts. A very helpful and friendly service as well. The facilities were immaculate although potentially tricky...More

Despite being the only establishment in Bristol that doesn't serve my beloved cider, I had a superb meal here. Great portion of brushetta and fish carpaccio starters, excellent mains of salmon and ravioli and a free fly floating limplessly in the oasis of house white...More

I went here for a meal with my family to celebrate my partner and I's recent engagement. We had a three course meal which was all great. The only thing that could be improved is the service. The staff didn't seem very interested, and almost...More

We dined here on 6th August, it was a last minute decision and pleased we chose to eat here. We both had the penne arrabiata which was very tasty, we also had a bottle of red wine (shiraz) which was very good. It wasn't too...More

Visited San Carlo and have to say the food was very underwhelming. Had the squid ink ravioli to start and was completely dominated by salt and the calzone for main was disappointing too. Not one to go back to.

Yes the food was very good. The grilled fish selection was excellent. The prawn, lobster and avocado starter was delicious. All the steaks including the fillet barolo were very good. So why not an excellent? The vegetables and the expensive sauteed potatoes were very uninspired...More

My husband & I enjoyed a lovely meal on the last Saturday in July. I had emailed a few weeks before to reserve a table, and was glad I had as it was very busy. I agree with comments about the tables being too close...More

We had a table booked for 9pm. We were told somewhat abruptly to wait in the bar. As we waited 3 further couples and a group of 4 came in after us and they were all taken to tables. When I asked the maitre'd why...More

Having been to arguably the best Italian ever at San Carlo Manchester I was excited to take family to San Carlo Bristol for lunch. It certainly has the same hall of fame of various footballers having eaten there over the years and has a lovely...More

No picture of the menu but the prices are very reasonable, I think I had the shellfish for main and it was about £30, but that was at the top end of price range.

I would say smart casual but a jacket and tie would not look out of place. As an aside I would advise against choosing this restaurant for a special occasion. The food is good but the service is ridiculously rushed. It's... More

Description
San Carlo is a popular and award-winning Italian dining institution in the heart of Bristol's bustling Corn Street. The restaurant's lavish dining room – with tiled floors, neutral décor and electric blue accents – has a unique Mediterranean ambience and is always busy with a vibrant local crowd. The buzzy atmosphere, bold flavours and warm hospitality at San Carlo combine to provide an ideal setting for group parties and corporate events. We love the modern yet authentic seafood-led menu, and favourite dishes include the spaghetti with shellfish, garlic, chilli and fresh basil in a tomato sauce; the classic tuna carpaccio; and the traditional spiced Italian sausages cooked with Borlotti beans and served with grilled polenta.
