After a walk across The Downs, I'm usually tempted to call into The Marmalade Café for either a light lunch or coffee and a slice of cake. There is a relaxed atmosphere and, although there are plenty of other cafes on Blackboy Hill and Whiteladies Road, I always seem to end up here!

Good atmosphere and good, simple, healthy food. I go most weeks for a light lunch with a friend. The friends that I take are always happy to have a return visit. The roast butternut squash in the salad is perfectly cooked and, when we asked, the chef told us how he'd cooked it. And Doris is a very friendly dog,... More

We love coming here! We've tried most of the menu between us, and everything is really really tasty. The staff are always very friendly and accomodating, and it's a lovely local cafe, but with incredibly high food standards- the salads are pretty much gourmet, and the food is always well-sourced and delicious, and for the price, incredibly reasonable. If it's... More

Found this cafe purely by chance on a Saturday morning for breakfast, very friendly welcome and I was probably the only stranger there, everyone else appeared to be regulars. Great choice of food.

The cafe is almost hidden away in Worrall Road and not many people know of its existence. It has a pleasant warm atmosphere and the owner who attends to most of the orders is always pleasant. It welcomes in dogs and serves a decent latte but overall it is unpleasant sitting in Marmalade cafe as it reeks of the breakfasts... More

Have stopped her a few times for a coffee and sometimes a light lunch. The staff are very polite and service is very good. Light snacks are served and they are very good quality.

Chanced on this gem while house hunting recently and were amazed by delicious home cooked food, Great quality and friendly owners. Went back again this week and just as good. Salad with roast beets and squash and homemade falafel. Scrumptious. Next time you go for a walk on the downs plan in a visit.

Excellent coffee, and excellent food. Being able to take the dog in is a nice touch. Highly recommended.

My husband has been trying to get me to come here on the recommendation of one of his clients and we finally made it today. I loved it! Great atmosphere. The place clearly has many regulars who are well known to the staff. We were made to feel welcome, attended to quickly, orders arrived speedily and the food was great.... More

Nice place. Off the main road. Menu was comprehensive. The bacon and jalapeño sandwich has changed my view on the bacon butty
