The lion rightly takes pride in the level of service it provides. The staff are outstanding - every single member of the team is friendly, engaging, and genuinely welcoming. The result is a real local's feel, but totally inclusive and open to all-comers. The menu is top pub fare - a great selection of burgers (beef, falafel, mushroom, you choose... More

Can't fault it - staff all very helpful and kind and enthusiastic. Went with a newborn and in laws - another table was found best for our needs. I cannot eat may foods while breatsfeeding my son and they had many gluten free and vegan options and also gave me a fantastic roast dinner free from nuts/egg/soya/dairy and gluten and... More

I cannot speak highly enough of this great venue. It was my nephew's birthday and he wanted the family to join him for Sunday lunch. The food was superb! We all had a mixture of meals, lamb, beef and the veg options. I had the veg and it was exceptional. I am trying to eat a more plant based diet... More

I went to Bristol for a solo trip in March and the first evening I went to this pub cause I read they have vegan options. It was Sunday and I had a huge and delicious Sunday Roast and the apple crumble with icecream, everything was vegan and super yummy. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed and I loved the... More

What a find, really cosy and lively atmosphere, the food was just amazing I had the mushroom burger and my other half had a beef burger. The owners made us feel so welcome.....we've booked for the family in April for my birthday....can't... More

We went here because of all the great reviews. We weren't disappointed excellent sunday roast with excellent desserts we will definitely go back again and again. What was also excellent and made a great lunch even better was how friendly and chatty and general fab all the staff were.

The sweet menu was also very good with a good selection and tasted delightful. All the staff were extremely customer focused and were... More

The miracle of this place is that they can cook and serve excellent food, on time, when the pub is packed with people. Good options for Sunday roast dinner, including vegetarian, and 3 real ales available. The family who own the pub are very friendly, and despite being very busy, seem to have plenty of time to chat. It's a... More

Came here on a Saturday lunchtime with friends that live locally who had reserved a table. Wales vs Scotland 6 nations on TV so great atmosphere. Impressive choice on menu with extensive selection of burgers (Wallace and Gromet burger recommended) . Food did take a while to come but this is a pub so who cares. Burgers were gourmet (made...
