Good food, fair prices and great service. The girls that run the operation do a fine job and it is fast becoming the go to place in town to eat. Reservations suggested...just in case.

We had the pita bread to start and was very delicious, and the rib dinner was also really good, lack of ice in the drinks but maybe they were running low that day. Rum selection not the greatest but any rum is better than no...More

We had a fantastic supper here our first night in Wells. Great food and drink, and good service, especially since we showed up so close to closing time. Fun ambience with all the old posters on the ceiling, I think my neck still hurts from...More

I like the little frogs decorated at the restaurant. So cutie and unique. Should have asked the story behind. The ribs were yummy. Home-made food at its finest way.More

We are so happy you enjoyed your visit to the Bear's Paw! The frogs are a relic from the previous owner - she still owns the Frog on the Bog gift shop next door. The bog behind our cafe is home to a large frog...More

In a community to limited choices for eating this was a delightful find. Had meatloaf made with bison and beef that was surprising and rich with flavours. Home made pastries to end a meal. And not expensive.

We are pleased you enjoyed your dinner at the Bear's Paw. We try to keep our prices reasonable, despite our rural location, by making everything in house and using local products whenever possible. Thanks for the kind review!

Wells is the working welcome to the historic museum town of Barkerville. Not a lot of obvious conventional restaurants but the funky exterior and hippy ambience suggest something special is going on. Basic food groups were well covered with good vegetarian and seafood options. I...More

We were staying in Wells to attend a wedding, and we were hoping to find someplace to have breakfast. The owner was very friendly, but the menu was very limited, and the prices pretty high.

They were out of their signature ribs, so we had a bison/beef meatloaf. It was delicious and the side dishes of tiny roasted potatoes and other roasted vegetables were excellent and beautifully presented. Items on the menu are marked for gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian choices....More
