Great place in a cool little town. Bumped into it by accident - had tasty breakfast and a nice chat with the owner. Breads and pastries look wonderful as well (didn't have the chance to try them though). Hope to be back!

Thought the pizza and salads here were a great lunch option, great crust and fresh ingredients. Other options also looked very good. Service was a little jumbled over several wait staff but got the job done for our table of 8 people. I wish we...More

I bought a loaf of bread and a spinach/feta roll to go. Both were delicious. Walking by tables of diners, the food there looked good too. Friendly, helpful woman at the counter.

Stopped in for a late breakfast (breakfast served until 11:00). This is a very popular spot for locals as well as tourists. It is a full blown bakery as well as a restaurant so there is a good amount of walk in and take out...More

Perfect pre-bike morning, thank you loaf! Coffee was excellent, breakfast was fresh and delicious. Teagan our Australian server was an absolute gem and was the most flexible adjusting our orders and offered to take our picture. Side note-too many chairs on patio but the flowers...More

Great restaurant space, outdoor seating, ambiance, and friendly service. The letdown was the food quality. If the restaurant stepped up the food quality bar this place would be a force to recon with - I will give this place another shot.

Placed the order online for a pickup at 5pm. That didn't work too well. So after the order was placed again and picked up, it was worth the wait. Great fresh past and pizza.

I suggest the staff at Loaf Bakery and Restaurant smoke their dope after finishing their shifts instead of during working hours. Never had such poor service anywhere... ever! Walked out after having waited for over an hour for our breakfasts. My family and I endured...More

We were in Fernie for a morning. we live 2-3 hours away. First time here in a long while. Impressed by old downtown main street. Stopped here for a dessert. Got the small pecan pie to take away. Everything else looked amazing. The $5.00 small...More

I would like to know why in 2016 your manager/owner would have the audacity to disallow entry into your establishment to a mother and 3 children based on the colour of their skin. Proceeding to call them "half-breeds" and to go elsewhere. DO NOT eat here. We will not stand for your racism.

Hi. I will be visitng Fernie this upcoming week with my daughter who is on a dairy elimination diet. Do you have favorite dairy free recommendations from your menu? Holly

Hi Holly, hope this isn't too late to respond. The Loaf has a number of dairy-free options including soups and salads and most of the breads. The pizza dough is made with EV Olive Oil (no dairy) and many items can be... More

The Loaf has been growing and evolving for seven years, from a start-up in a miner's cottage to a firm favourite in Fernie's Downtown core. Owners Phil & Claire Gadd have always designed The Loaf to be accessible and affordable, a neighbourhood restaurant where everyone is welcome and feels comfortable, no matter what the time of day. With excellent food, made from scratch on the premises daily. Now its time for some changes: updating the interior to make a more comfortable dining experience, extending the list of craft beers and offering more wines and liquor and creating an environment where the focus is on exceptional food, good company and the relaxed dining experience. "Our perfect wish for Fernie is a place with craft beers, a good solid wine list by the glass, pizzas, pasta, and some other nice mains, but nothing too fancy. And that's exactly what we're aiming to do at The Loaf."
