My daughter and I stopped by for lunch on Saturday. The staff were friendly and helpful, the menu had a good selection and the prices were reasonable. I would recommend to a friend. (I only chose Very Good rather than Excellent because they were a...More

This place makes phoenominal pizzas. Great relaxed atmosphere, alcohol. Typical small fernie venue with a big punch.

Pizza was good, managed to get their happy hour pizzas which were only $10. Their beer had a strange taste to it though, and we had just had the same exact beer previously at the northern minutes before.

We love the care and thoughtfulness of Loaf. Food is always amazing!! They are always up on the latest food trends and serve up a mean loaf of bread.

We had lunch here and found the food average only. The beet and Garlic Soup was barley warm and could be a health issue actually. Beef dips were cold in the middle. A lot of restaurants it is fun to observe and see the cooks...More

A big thank you to Rhiannon, Caitlin and Chris for making this a highlight of our vacation through BC and Montana. They were professional yet fun and engaged. The atmosphere was quiet, until we arrived. The food was fantastic, my lunch was filling and my...More

We were there last night and whilst the food was lovely and the atmosphere was good, there was a good musician playing., but we didn't appreciate the sweeping of the floor whilst we were sitting drinking our wine! We mentioned it to the waitress who...More

We ordered chicken club sandwich, beets salad and cheese grill sandwich with ham for our 10 year old. All nicely done and good quality of fresh ingredients. Not recommend the juice though, didn't like it.

My wife and I ordered the English breakfast. We asked for over easy eggs, they were cooked hard. Potatoes were very salty and the beans were raw and not cooked enough. Expensive and very disappointing. Coffee was good....

The decor is very lovely, very welcoming. It's always filled with happy-looking people. I had the salad with the (canned) beets in it, and I think it was a pecan, maybe two, slathered in dressing that I had asked for on the side. I was...More

Hi Holly, hope this isn't too late to respond. The Loaf has a number of dairy-free options including soups and salads and most of the breads. The pizza dough is made with EV Olive Oil (no dairy) and many items can be... More

Description
The Loaf has been growing and evolving for seven years, from a start-up in a miner's cottage to a firm favourite in Fernie's Downtown core. Owners Phil & Claire Gadd have always designed The Loaf to be accessible and affordable, a neighbourhood restaurant where everyone is welcome and feels comfortable, no matter what the time of day. With excellent food, made from scratch on the premises daily. Now its time for some changes: updating the interior to make a more comfortable dining experience, extending the list of craft beers and offering more wines and liquor and creating an environment where the focus is on exceptional food, good company and the relaxed dining experience. "Our perfect wish for Fernie is a place with craft beers, a good solid wine list by the glass, pizzas, pasta, and some other nice mains, but nothing too fancy. And that's exactly what we're aiming to do at The Loaf."
