Met here for lunch with friends. The food, the atmosphere and the service was very good! We hadn't seen each other for a year and the atmosphere was not loud or obnoxious, a good place to visit and be. The servers did not rush us...More

The Loaf was a great place to stop after walking the main strip and shopping at the local stores. We had the Mediterranean Pizza which was awesome with a few pints of the local brew. We sat outside, the viewed as well as the service...More

There were a few uninviting reviews about this place, but rest assured the service was good. The food was great! I had the chicken club and although they were out of avocado for the sandwich they added cheese and it was still delicious. I bet...More

After a week in Alberta, and a long drive from Drumheller, it was 7 pm and we were desperate for the carboholic delights that the Loaf promised. Took over an hour for our meal to come out of the kitchen. We had to take several...More

My husband and I stopped in for brunch here on a recent touring trip through Fernie. Absolutely delicious food, especially the gluten free eggs Benedict. Decently priced, though of course not inexpensive, as is typical of a good GF dining out experience. Our waiter never...More

We stopped here just before the dinner hours so were able to order off the bar menu. The gluten-free pizza was amazing. They make their crust right there to order so it takes a few minutes longer than the other pizza but let me tell...More

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local. They said the food was made fresh and had great flavour. They were absolutely right. My sandwich was packed with flavour. I loved the fresh bread, soups and pizzas. Would definitely go back!

The meal was quite good, but most memorable was the conversation with the two gentlemen that ran the restaurant. They were very happy to have each guest come in, sit down and enjoy the excellent service. They were very attentive, constantly checking on us without...More

Taken from a post from a bystander... Hey! I was sitting on the deck right beside that situation with my husband and my baby yesterday morning. I just heard about the comment that was made on your page. We were at the table... More

Hi Holly, hope this isn't too late to respond. The Loaf has a number of dairy-free options including soups and salads and most of the breads. The pizza dough is made with EV Olive Oil (no dairy) and many items can be... More

Description
The Loaf has been growing and evolving for seven years, from a start-up in a miner's cottage to a firm favourite in Fernie's Downtown core. Owners Phil & Claire Gadd have always designed The Loaf to be accessible and affordable, a neighbourhood restaurant where everyone is welcome and feels comfortable, no matter what the time of day. With excellent food, made from scratch on the premises daily. Now its time for some changes: updating the interior to make a more comfortable dining experience, extending the list of craft beers and offering more wines and liquor and creating an environment where the focus is on exceptional food, good company and the relaxed dining experience. "Our perfect wish for Fernie is a place with craft beers, a good solid wine list by the glass, pizzas, pasta, and some other nice mains, but nothing too fancy. And that's exactly what we're aiming to do at The Loaf."
