A local recommended this Restaurant; and wow the cooking was fantastic. They roll their own pasta & bread, some years ago they were a bakery. After a delicious bread platter with butter & pesto, I ordered the mushroom risotto with duck leg confit, while hubby...More

We stopped in here after a very cold day on the mountain. We had a beer, soup and pizza and it warmed us right up! Service was fantastic and friendly.

We were passing through Fernie on our way south & decided to stop for lunch. Driving along Main St. we stopped @The Loaf, a restaurant we hadn't previously visited. We had an excellent meal, the staff were polite & attentive, but not overbearing, the food...More

We had the Loaf hamburgers and pizza. Thin crust is good, the pulled pork pizza was tasty but small amount of pork and loaded too much with cole slaw. The Hawaiian pizza was for some reason, a smaller serving size. French fries are in fact...More

The food was good. Order at the counter and find a table. Patio in the summer is very nice. Deserts are tasty too. An added bonus is being able to by breads and treats to take home. Definitely worth a visit.

The food and service is good here, and a nice environment for lunch or brunch, but I'd probably not want to eat dinner here. Feels more like a cafe. The food is kind of expensive, and although my meal (poultry breakfast bowl) sounded really appetizing,...More

Hi Holly, hope this isn't too late to respond. The Loaf has a number of dairy-free options including soups and salads and most of the breads. The pizza dough is made with EV Olive Oil (no dairy) and many items can be... More

Description
The Loaf has been growing and evolving for seven years, from a start-up in a miner’s cottage to a firm favourite in Fernie’s Downtown core. Owners Phil & Claire Gadd have always designed The Loaf to be accessible and affordable, a neighbourhood restaurant where everyone is welcome and feels comfortable, no matter what the time of day. With excellent food, made from scratch on the premises daily. Now its time for some changes: updating the interior to make a more comfortable dining experience, extending the list of craft beers and offering more wines and liquor and creating an environment where the focus is on exceptional food, good company and the relaxed dining experience. “Our perfect wish for Fernie is a place with craft beers, a good solid wine list by the glass, pizzas, pasta, and some other nice mains, but nothing too fancy. And that’s exactly what we’re aiming to do at The Loaf.”
