Good food, used to be a decent price but they have raised prices after some renos, now not so sure. Affordable breakfast always offered at the bagel shop down the street.

This is a very nice little restaurant, cosy setting, good menu. Pizzas are a staple, and very good Italian-style. Lots of other things on the menu to tempt most.

Good choice of breads and baking but we did not have a great dinner experience. I have eaten there a few times and frequently buy their bread products which are very good. Soups and lunch selections are decent.

We went there last 2pm for a late lunch. It was raining and the restaurant was busy. It was packed but I hope they put more man power. Our foods came 30 mins after we ordered and to be honest, I can't remember if my burger was really good Coz I was starving already. I ordered a hot tea and... More

We were starting a long drive from Fernie and stopped by the Loaf Bakery for pastries. It was early so not sure if that is the reason for the short supply. Still, we were happy to find Fall specials...a pumpkin tart in wheat crust and a slice of pumpkin bread. They were delicious. The pumpkin in both was lightly spiced.... More

How can you tell a great place in a small town? That is right the locals are all here. We got there at 12 on Sunday. The place was packed and obviously with locals. We shared a table and we're told the kitchen. Was catching up and we could order in 20 minutes. This we did and the wait was... More

It's a great premise but they can't deliver consistently. Stopped for breakfast. They were very busy. I liked the idea of the communal tables but the restaurant was overwhelmed by large groups so it was more like a banquet hall. The bread was good. The service wasn't. The prices were a bit high.

We make sure to visit the Loaf when we are in Fernie, this time we ate there three times in the week we were in town. Combination of a bakery and restaurant as the name indicates. Very good sandwiches made with bread baked on site, ditto for deserts and the soup, all tastes home made. Very popular spot, can get... More

The Loaf has been growing and evolving for seven years, from a start-up in a miner's cottage to a firm favourite in Fernie's Downtown core. Owners Phil & Claire Gadd have always designed The Loaf to be accessible and affordable, a neighbourhood restaurant where everyone is welcome and feels comfortable, no matter what the time of day. With excellent food, made from scratch on the premises daily. Now its time for some changes: updating the interior to make a more comfortable dining experience, extending the list of craft beers and offering more wines and liquor and creating an environment where the focus is on exceptional food, good company and the relaxed dining experience. "Our perfect wish for Fernie is a place with craft beers, a good solid wine list by the glass, pizzas, pasta, and some other nice mains, but nothing too fancy. And that's exactly what we're aiming to do at The Loaf."
