Although this place has a bit of a 'Earth Mother' feel, it is perfectly comfortable for anyone. Food is good (salads are great!), service is fast & tea is excellent. The menu is simple, but everything on it is well done. Definitely return.

Hubby and I went to the bean tree looking for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. As we were ordering I picked up one of the puffed wheat squares (my all time favourite), and it was ROCK hard. Although the coffee was okay, I was turned off by the limited menus items for breakfast.

We decided to check out the Platzo New Year's Day and this was just about the only place open so we went in for a London fog and mocha. Our barista daughter was impressed by the fresh espresso grinding and loose leaf tea. Add .25 for take out drinks. Rustic atmosphere and decent seating available. Owners pleasant.

You would expect more than steamed chocolate milk for $3.75. They put so much effort into all the other goodies and drinks they serve maybe the hot chocolate could have a little more attention too. Not everyone drinks coffee!

Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cakes, muffins - the works. Absolutely everything you'd want from a coffee shop. We'll be back.

We really enjoyed our breakfast visit here over the September long weekend. Our family of 4 was happy with the variety on their menu. Nice range of options for all dietary choices (I'm a vegan, my husband and kids are not). If this place was in Vancouver the prices would be double, great value for what you receive at The... More
