Was told about the apple strudel so I ordered a serving.Huge portion with great custard sauce at a terrific price.Chef... More

My gf and I were touring Kimberley, B.C.'s Platzl (Plaza) and noticed the Chef's Schnitzel House; we decided to check it out. Huge menu, good prices, cool restaurant with many very interesting items, including a train that travels around on a track hanging from the ceiling. We both ordered the Tourist Special- schnitzel with mushroom sauce, spatzel or spatzel dumpling,... More

Its been open 27 years and chef bernard and his wife still have the restaurant open 7 days a week. Wow. We each had a happy hour german beer... More

Came in here for the first time for a late lunch after a day or skiing. Warmed up with some delicious glasses of mulled wine with generous plates of schnitzel and spaetzle. Great place for a lunch or dinner and very easy to get to if you are staying on the hill. Prices are very reasonable, and don't take away... More

Very good meal, exceptionally personable wait-staff. The owner in a T-shirt came out to greet us on the street, in the dead of Winter, and more or less ushered us in. "You'll love it here." We were hungry and a few nearby places were very full, and this place was empty. So, the others in the party just did as... More

We have been to chef Bernard's each time we have visited Canada. We have a love of traditional German food anyway and it never disappoints us when having lunch here. Traditional schnitzel is lovely and the atmosphere is very different making it interesting. Will definitely be going back again :)

Not sure what to say about this restaurant... so many odd pieces of history that it's overwhelming. But... the cheese fondue was delicious and when we had a strange request, the owner didn't even flinch. What a wonderful place to have a meal with friends, a locally owned gem.

Chef Bernard is quite the character. He was very funny and friendly. We had appetizers and hot spiced wine. I will go back and try his Schnitzel.

Some of the best schnitzel that we've had in a long time. And the mustards were amazing. Lots of selections for flavours. We would definitely go back and dine here again! 10/10.
