Lovely outdoor setting and so much potential, coffee was good but the food was a real disappointment. ‘Creamy’ mushrooms were runny on three orders, we all had soggy toast from the moment it reached the table. $6 for one slice of bacon on the side....A long wait for coffee and food. Yes it was Mother’s Day but it was not busy enough to effect the quality of the food. Disappointing to hear the eggs and bacon aren’t free- range given the price. Won’t be returning unfortunately...More
I would given this restaurant 5 stars if it weren't for a couple of things. Most of our group enjoyed the food, except for one who said her burger was very tough and one who thought the fish of the day was just ok but...that the puree served with it was lovely. The cocktails are yuuummy! However, the service was a bit on the slow side. A couple of times we had to ask when the drinks coming. Other than that, we had a great time.More
Met up with a girlfriend for a light mid-week lunch, after a previous enjoyable Sunday lunch experience. Admittedly, it was quieter than at a weekend, but everyone was attentive, without intruding on our non-stop chatter. Salads were super fresh, and my request for a slightly-more-than-seared...tuna, was cooked to perfection. Lovely setting, peaceful and relaxing. If I hadn't been committed to dry-January, I would definitely have indulged in a glass of chilled pinot gris. Hey-ho.
PS - from a previous visit, the Pear, walnut and prosciutto pizza would definitely be elevated by a sprinkling of peppery rocket (arugula) on top :)More
Lovely setting and super friendly staff. However craft beer options were limited and our menu choices didn’t match their descriptions and failed to meet our expectations. Food was ok but nothing special considering the cost. We had the rice paper rolls and the summer platter....Disappointing as this restaurant is rated #1 in Devonport and we were hoping for something special.More
We had New Year’s Eve dinner with 4 adults and 2 kids and from the moment we arrived the service was so welcoming and professional. It was beautifully setup which made me a little nervous with a toddler as I thought it may have been...fancier than I thought but there was nothing to stress about, there was no judgment felt for having kids, We felt so comfortable and well looked after. Food was great, one main came out late which wasn’t a big deal for us but we were offered a free drink on the house. I find it very rare these days to receive such great customer service. I’m pregnant so I had some dietary requests which they were more than happy to cater to. I highly recommend this beautiful place. My family and I will definitely be coming back more frequently!More
Recently celebrated my 50th birthday at Hemingways with 22 of us. Tracey and her team were amazing to deal with, gave us a lovely private area, fantastic food and drinks and staff were really friendly so made my night. Thanks again :)
