Service was great, fish way over cooked. We read reviews that said the fish and chips were good. They were not and a hefty price of 26.00 per plate. Will not be back for that for sure

True neighborhood bar and grille; usually a bit faster to get our meal than this time. Food was great though and cocktails as always top notch.
This restaurant is our absolute "go-to" place in Spokane for great, non-fancy pants food. Wonderful service, very friendly atmosphere, and very fun! Best clam chowder I've ever had, only on Fridays, though.
We sat at the bar, since the tables were all full. The bartender was fun and clearly great at her job. She cheerfully made for me the modified version of the Scooby Snack (beverage) that I requested; it was delicious! We had the two-for-one bacon...cheeseburger special, which was also delicious. Dessert was amazing, like a chocolate molten lava brownie. Wish we were staying in town longer - this place was great!!!More
If you like small town greasy bars, you might like Dave’s. We came to Dave’s from Trip advisor recommendations. We were disappointed. Food was not that great, greasy bar atmosphere. I probably wont go back when I visit the area again.
It is a bar atmosphere with limited seating and very noisy. The food was good and the servings were large. The service was good also. Unfortunately all the good steak choices they were out of when I was there but the ribs were ok.
We'd heard they had great fish and chips here so stopped in on our way back from Liberty Lake. The parking is around back. It's a cute place, small with old signs and an old gas pump for decor. The service was good and it...seems like they get a lot of repeat customers based on the conversations we heard. We ordered the halibut fish and chips. You got a choice of sides, we choose cole slaw. Cost was about $17. The cole slaw was great and I think the fish would have been good if it had not been over cooked. The batter was tasty but the fish inside was dry and hard to chew. The fries were under cooked, but could have been good with an extra minute in the fryer. I don't know if it was an off day for the cook but it could have been a good meal with a little adjustment.More
Good, fair dish, well made and tasty. Nice service and good place for the night. Easy location and closes a bit later than the alternatives.
WARNING, WARNING, WARNING… Have eaten at Dave’s fifty plus times and have always been pleased…however; I purchased a couple of to-go-orders a couple weeks back (steaks) and they were the 'WORST'. The steaks could have been used as shoe leather. Was it simply coincidental we...received tough meat for the to-go-orders? I should have just bundled the food back up and returned it but it was getting late. Including tip these two meals came to over $50. I will eat at Dave’s again but I will 'NEVER' get another to-go-order. (NOTE: this is the first time I have ever written a review)More
Well worth a stop for great food and cold beers. Fish and chips. And daily special of ribs was tasty. Decor is fun and the lighting is very bright! May look like a dark spot in outside. But step inside.
The atmosphere is uggh! But, the food and drink is affordable and the people that work here treat you good even if you aren't a regular!
We've been coming to Dave''s for close to twenty five years. Most of those twenty five have given us really good reasonably priced food. We quit going because as Forest says "you never know what you're going to get". I agree in days past their...fish n' chips was arguably the best in Spokane. Their bacon cheeseburger was top notch as was the meatloaf. The last sampling of these three was sadly well below average, quality wise. As Valley residents we like to see local businesses succeed so I'm not here to bash Dave's, but poor quality food is poor quality food no matter what. My last meal here was meatloaf (I had already given up on fish and chips and the bacon cheeseburger). It literally looked as if someone had dumped a can of Alpo on my plate and mixed in some of those very large salad croutons. I complained to my waitress and was assured that was how it has always been made. Since I have been coming to Dave's longer than she has been alive, I can assure you that is not how the meatloaf has always been made. I'm sure that Dave's has various good offerings, but for me being local, it's not worth taking a chance.More
I had the pleasure of dining at Daves during a trip to the Spokane Valley Area. I had just been on the road all day at Pend Orielle and Kootenai Falls and arrived at Daves around 7:00 pm. I had no trouble finding parking as...someone was pulling out right when I arrived and I parked in the back. I came in through the back door and felt I went back in time to an age of pool halls, smoking and burgers. What I saw was folks of all ages, families, kids, elderly folk, etc. and the place was packed with all kinds of food being served. I sat at the bar and was greeted by the bartender who told me that the Prime Rib would be my best choice as that was one of the dishes Daves was known for. Seated at the bar beside was a fellow who ordered the dinner portion of the popular coconut shrimp which he said he has been eating for over 30 years. Coconut Shrimp? Prime Rib? A wall full of lottery tickets? Luckily Daves had an Amber Altbier on tap from The Alaskan Brewing Company which would be the best match for everything. Out came the shrimp, with its rich, crispy and crunchy coconut coating with juicy plump shrimp inside. The shrimp was so good, I almost cancelled my Prime Rib order to get more !!! I chatted with some of the staff and had a few more sips of my Amber Altbier when the Prime Rib came out. Juicy, Tender delicious and cooked to perfection that's what I got. I've eaten at some of the leading Steakhouses in North America, so I was surprised at how well prepared these restaurants Prime Rib was. Hats off to Daves Bar and Grill for their very well made Food !!! The Jus and the big hearty Slice of buttery garlic bread was a nice touch to complete this meal. I see why Daves is so popular. It may be an older style establishment, but they still are going strong and making great food!!More

The BEST fish and chips in town! Nightly specials are a great deal and always good. Dave’s does not disappoint.
