Don’t know where the bad reviewers have been but it’s not the same pub as me. This is a quaint English pub with low beamed ceilings and inglenook fireplaces tucked away from the main road. The food is fresh cooked with plenty of it, and the chef came out to check we were happy with our meal. The staff are pleasant, friendly and couldn’t be more accommodating if they tried. All the food came out together, on hot plates and was well cooked. If I had to make a criticism it would be that there is too much food (I hate wastage). My mum asked if she could have a doggy bag and the staff were happy to box up the remains of each persons meals into separate take away boxes. I’ll definitely be coming here again.

Good country pub atmosphere, friendly staff and most importantly, food was great. Goat cheese and tomato salad was plentiful, steaks we ordered were cooked to perfection up to medium and medium rare as ordered. It was a pleasant visit for us.

Wow just wow! The roast dinners are to die for. We travelled from Bridgwater to check this pub out after hearing great things about it. There was 12 of us, neither of us could fault any of the food, roast and basket meals were brilliant and good value for money. I challenge you to find somewhere nearby as welcoming and serving such delicious food. Kids thoroughly enjoyed the garden and the bouncy castle. What a glorious sun trap but plenty of optional shade also. Highly recommended by us 😊

Came in with misses the other night sat down had a meal our food was cold and undercooked . The service was diabolical. It was completely overpriced so we left our food and left , absolutely disappointed. I don’t think we’ll ever come and eat this Pub again. We’re not happy with the staff either’ that lady with the funny coloured hair who works behind the bar was rude , the atmosphere of that pub has totally changed. I used to come here with the misses years ago but doubt will ever come back now So we give this place a 1 star.

What’s happened to the Old Inn? Firstly .. We went to The Old Inn on boxing day ? it was closed ? This was tradition for us. We used to go to the Old Inn many times on Boxing Day and it was open in the daytime this time it was closed . Then after the new year Me and Dave had a disappointing experience with both the food and staff. We was really looking forward to a nice pint & nice meal, friendly service, a relaxing evening but our visit fell far short of expectations. Firstly, we tried one of your Sunday roasts and it was cold, undercooked, overpriced, poor quality, ! Secondly, when I asked the member of your staff that the food was cold were they were rude, inattentive, dismissive, and unhelpful.. We was hoping for a much better experience, and I believe that customer service and food quality should be a priority. I wanted to bring this to your attention in case you were unaware of these issues, as we believe improvements are needed.

While the food was quite passable and reasonably priced (£20 for 2 meals from the ‘pub classics’ menu) it was a totally underwhelming experience. Pie with chips and vegetables - a square of pre cut shortcrust pastry plonked on top of a dish of filling (not a pie in my books) and a mountain of garden peas. Service was friendly but absolutely no effort to ask whether we wanted desserts or tea/coffee. Indeed felt that at 2100h they couldn’t wait for us to leave so they could shut the pub (which they did). Not at all welcoming. Wouldn’t recommend this as a place to eat.

Came here Saturday evening with our fiends and kids. Our youngest didn’t like anything on the menu but the staff asked chef if they could do something different and they did. Warm welcome and friendly staff. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Looking forward to trying a Sunday lunch next week as heard it’s worth a try.

A traditional old pub tucked away down a cul-de-sac, it looks very attractive from the outside and fortunately it’s got plenty of olde worlde ambience inside as well. The menu offered a decent selection of “pub grub” dishes, with options such as Pie of the Day, Scampi & Chips, Burger, and so on. There is a specials board on the wall, but this was completely empty. I enquired what the curry of the day was, at which point the friendly barmaid had to scuttle off to the kitchen to check, and then described it as a Korma. A little vague I thought, is that Chicken Korma, Vegetable Korma, Prawn Korma perhaps? Further questioning elicited that it was indeed chicken, although oddly I still heard her describing it as just Korma to other customers subsequently. First impressions when it turned up were that it was rather on the small side. The curry was served in a metal dish like you might get in an Indian restaurant, and it really didn’t look very much at all. The advertised naan was also conspicuous by it’s absence, although it had been replaced with a poppadom. Nonetheless, it would have been nice to have been told this when ordering, some people don’t really like rice and rely on the bread to scoop up their sauce. The curry itself was ok, but I can’t really say any more than that. Nothing wrong with it certainly, but not especially tasty, and as mentioned, a little on the small side. For £8 or £9 I suppose it would have been fine, but not for £13. Across the table, a beef lasagne with garlic bread and a side salad was a better sized portion, although appeared to have been heated to such a high temperature that the top layer was almost rock solid. A little crispy coating is nice, but not something you’ve got to hack your way through. Once that was done though, the meat was quite tasty and for a tenner this seemed the better option of the two dishes. Overall I thought this was a lovely old pub and the barmaid was pleasant and friendly, but it’s not anywhere I would rush back to for the food.

Just had the Sunday Lunch with friends, it was absolutely amazing, stunning quality, everything and I mean everything was perfect, we use the pub often for a drink with our dogs but we invited friends who had no been before, I nearly had to break up a fight with them over the cauliflower cheese! Stunning. Special shout out to the wonderful staff who served us the ever cheerful Ali and of course Tracey, thanks ladies.

Called on the off chance to get a table for 4 with a well behaved doggy! Fitted us in without question and the service and food was fabulous. We were made to feel very welcome despite the local feel of the place and we even joined the meat raffle! The Sunday roasts were absolutely divine! Way too much for us to eat so make sure you have empty tummies! Thank you all so much.. a lovely warm, friendly, welcoming and charming place to visit! We will be back x

Went here for lunch with friends and parents, I would say half the meals were of a good standard it adult the other half were very basic from a very limited menu. They managed to mess up a plain burger, my sandwich would have been better constructed if I’d gone to a super market and made it in the car park. First meals came out and nearly an hour later the next lot when we asked when would the food be here the chef shouted ‘when it’s ready’ so the bad attitude was another negative. Personally I would avoid there is many better nearby establishments.

We were a group of 16 people lunching at The Old Inn. The staff were very friendly & looked after us well. We had pre-booked our tables & as the kitchen is quite small we pre-ordered our meals. The meals all came together and were delicious. Well done Ricky & team.

Tucked away down a cul-de-sac, this clearly won’t get anything in the way of passing trade but is only a hundred yards or so from the main A370 and is well worth taking the short detour to track down. An attractive and quaint looking pub, it’s equally traditional inside with plenty of low wooden beams and a log burner or two for the colder weather. It really is a very cosy old pub. The menu offered a decent selection of pub grub dishes, as well as a number of steaks, burgers and dogs. My Cajun chicken came as three skewers of tender and tasty meat along with skinny fries, salad and slaw. All in all, I thought it was a pretty decent dish, and a generous portion. Across the table, the chicken, bacon and avocado salad was also well received. All in all I thought this was a lovely old pub with friendly staff, and I would be equally happy popping in just for a drink as something to eat. There is also a fair sized garden at the rear, with plenty of cover should the weather turn inclement. Well worth checking out.

Went last night with friends, and this was our first opportunity to eat under new management. We were not disappointed. The food was fantastic, the service was awesome, and the staff were just delightful. Our party had burgers, pork chops and the cod, which were all excellent, cooked to perfection and presented very nicely. Cannot fault anything and would highly recommend . Fortunately for me, one of three pubs in the village I can choose from. Definitely book if you want to enjoy this eatery, the place was buzzing when we visited, great atmosphere, lovely pub.
