Unfortunately we didn't find this spot until our last day. Short and simple... the food is great and the prices are reasonable. I recommend the red curry beef.

Recently my girlfriend and I visited Isla de Ometepe and rented bikes. We rode around the island before deciding to have lunch in Balgue. The curries we had were to die for delicious! My beef red curry was one of my highlights of Nicaragua. The beer was ice cold, staff was very friendly and overall cleanliness and atmosphere were great... More

The food is great and at a very reasonable price! The calala juice (passion fruit) was delicious! The bacon is organic and awesome, the pan is very good (French girl speaking ahah)

We are a couple in our 70s and we decided to walk from Santo Domingo to Cafe Campestre. After a lovely walk, we were hoping to be rewarded with a good meal and our meal at Cafe Campestre exceeded our expectations. We were happy to sit and "people watch" so perhaps the wait was a bit long, but freshly made... More

We stopped here on our motorbike tour of the island and were pleasantly surprised at our meal. We had one of the curry dishes which did not disappoint! Friendly service and a wide variety of options to choose from.

"Tough place to get drunk" because our first round took 20 minutes, and our second round never arrived. The good is really good here and we ate dinner here twice. But as other reviewers said, it can be super slow, even for island time.

We went here for lunch after our kayaking tour in the morning after seeing it on trip advisor as the no.1 restaurant. The place is very quaint and clearly foodie which I loved. They had homemade pasta hanging at the front, homemade tahini and peanut butter for sale. Their homemade lemonade was delicious. The menu offered lots of choice and... More

We went for lunch and it took a long time before we could place our order. After another long wait I got my food. It was delicious but Klay's food eventually arrived after I had finished my meal. When they brought him his meal we immediately ordered coffee and desert. 1/2 after he finished we cancelled the desert and coffee... More

Cafe Campestre is a farm to table organic restaurant, they make most of their menu from locally grown produce (most on their own finca), They even cure all their own bacon! They also have a Sunday Grill every Sunday after 2pm! They make fresh homemade bread twice a week, and eveything I've had off their menu (been there more than... More
