Had lunch yesterday for a meeting with friends. Received a warm welcome, in every sense. Food was very good, including an unusual but lovely honey and parsnip soup. Lingered for three hours with no sense of having outstayed our welcome. No background music to inhibit converstation. Altogether a really nice occasion for us, and highly recommended.

We stayed the night on the car park. Made very welcome in the bar. Great choice of real ales and a good fire going. Staff very attentive. Even a tuesday in November there were enough people in to give it atmosphere. Very clean and immaculate toilets. Work in progress I think for the new owners but they are doing a... More

We come here most months and haven't been disappointed yet! Friendly staff, stylish surroundings - and lovely and warm! The children's menu is great value - good sized portions and quality food. Tonight we had the special pork burger (beautiful) and game pie- a real pie - none of this puff pastry topper! Highly recommended for great pub food!

Staff very friendly and welcoming. They made sure we we happy with what we had ordered. Lovely and relaxing with real fire. Very cosy. Local Theakston beer ordered and enjoyed. Ordered two roast dinners. Beef and lamb. Lots of gravy. Yorkshire puds excellent. Never had better. Sweets looked good just no room for one.

A lovely sunny day, matched by a very sunny young lady who was both very friendly and efficient, rushing around getting the place ready for later. The starter, carrot soup was excellent the main meals were OK but nothing special, the sweets were very good. It is a good spot for a break when visiting the lakes but their mains... More

After driving past this place a couple of times we decided to call in for dinner. What a good idea. It was quite quiet and they shut at 9:00pm but we had a fabulous meal. The bar tender/waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

This was one of our favourite eating places, with a pleasant cosy atmosphere and food that was a little above typical pub grub with interesting menus, but this was our first visit since it reopened. Atmosphere was somewhat lacking, perhaps because things were rather quiet with only half a dozen tables occupied at Saturday lunchtime. Only one of the three... More

Thank you for your review, the pub changed hands 18 months ago, we staff dependant on bookings and have a back up system in place if required as you mention it wasn't that busy so extra staff were not required. We reduce to 2 ales in the winter months to ensure where possible the quality is at its best, unfortunately... More

The Sun Inn Staff were so lovely to us during our visit to the Lakes. Fantastic food, quality people and just really really sweet atmosphere. We enjoyed food on first night, so much so we came back a few more nights after.
