Turned up on a Friday evening, pouring down with rain, walked in and was immediately welcomed by the gentleman behind the bar, explained we wanted to eat and shown to a window table with a lovely warm radiator, and a very welcoming log fire. A nice choice of beers with 2 local ones. Turned up trumps it turned out to... More

A group of use went to this 'local' pub restaurant for an evening meal. The food and service was fine, and a good pint of beer served along with a decent wine list.

Dined here today - it was fabulous. Greeted by the lovely server who had laid us a table near the fire. He was attentive polite and promptly server our drinks. The lunch menu was varied with excellent choices. 3 of us opted for the cod and chips and one the gammon, my sin was torn between the steak pie or... More

Lovely restaurant / hotel with a good selection of quality food, wines and beers. Best of all I could take my dog in the bar (but not in the restaurant)

We visited The Boyne Arms after walking our dog in the area as we wanted a Sunday Dinner. They were happy to have our dog in the bar area as long as she was on her lead. Friendly staff from the outset we ordered a starter of Butternut Squash soup and the the Roast Beef dinner. Both meals were excellent.... More

Fish and chips are to die for! Not literally but it's a must if you're in the area. Perhaps on holiday in South Shropshire.

I went into the boyne arms last month having been in there once before and I was greeted with tobacco smoke coming from the bar area, I found my wife and I a seat in the lounge with one other couple who already looked displeased by the standards of the pub. Putting this to one side I ordered from the... More

We visited for Sunday roast lunch. The welcome and service were friendly. The dining room (part of a Georgian bulding) is beautifully appointed, a lovely room in which to take a meal. Unfortunately the lunch did not do justice to the surroundings. The food itself was adequate but, apart from the potatoes, was only lukewarm. This we reported when someone... More

A very good Sunday dinner...reasonable price. on a cold winters day. Full marks for the open fire.. however our table was right in front of one of the original large sash windows with the original wooden blinds on the front of the building.... and it was draughty Not sure who owns the pub but these sash windows needed to be... Description
The Boyne Arms is a rare example of a large country pub that focuses on quality locally sourced food and service in a welcoming and comfortable environment, either in the less formal main bar area or the Dinning Room. Food is served at lunch and dinner Tuesday to Saturday and at Sunday lunch. The range of our menu feature fresh seasonal produce produced by the talented chefs in the Boyne Arms kitchen. The venue benefits from its secluded location amongst the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with access directly on to Brown Clee Hill from the pub and therefore is perfect for walks and short-breaks.
