I had lunch here with a group of around 30 people. We had previously booked and pre ordered our lunch. The place was busy and I think it would be important to book at this very popular restaurant. We were all seated in the beautiful conservatory overlooking Fotheringhay Church. This is a super place to sit are enjoy the view.... More

Fotheringhay is really worth seeing, and the Falcon is an excellent restaurant. Good choice of food, very well prepared and served by excellent staff.

Excellent food, wide varied menu catering well for all needs ie excellent choice for coeliacs. Service very good. Only let down they couldn't control a table of 10 who were excessively noisy, which resulted in 3 tables having to be moved to finish their meal in the bar. The waiting staff had to shout over their noise to serve their... More

We had not visited The Falcon for a couple of years when we were invited to join friends for the Falcon New Year's Eve celebration. We had a really good time and enjoyed a seemingly endless supply of good food & drink in their all-in deal. We have since been back for Sunday lunch, which was excellent & on a... More

This was the second time that we had been with friends for lunch at The Falcon. Staff were welcoming, and the new Spring menu gave us ample choice. Three of us had the bacon, brie and avocado salad...which was delicious. We also enjoyed their fish and chips and vegetarian mushroom risotto. Lovely village, nice warm conservatory with delightful views of the... More

My wife and I came here last Sunday for lunch. The pub is situated in the charming village of Fotheringhay which is worth a stroll around on its own. The public bar is very comfortable with a log fire and good selection of beers. The delicious food selection is varied and comes fast with great service. Generally a very nice... More

We went for lunch. Arriving at about 12.30pm we met our friend in the bar, had a drink and checked out the menus that had been handed to us at the bar. Just before 1pm we were taken into the restaurant. And there we just sat for half an hour. Nobody came to give us the menus or to take... More

Dear Martin F Sorry to hear of this! I know there were a number of kitchen issues on the day in question and sadly it was your table affected for which I can only apologise. I don't think anyone was intentionally "hiding away" or ignoring customers although can understand why you assumed so - it was simply more a case... More

This place is listed in the Michelin guide but on this visit I wonder why. In the dim and distant past I am told it even boasted a Michelin star? We sat in the conservatory for lunch and they were not overly busy. The waitresses were knowledgeable about the food and very friendly. I was impressed with their selection of... More

Hello YeOldOne Thank you for reviewing and I'm sorry you didn't have the perfect experience with us. I've passed your comments on to the kitchen team and I'm sure they will act upon them. The Falcon has never actually held a Michelin star and, whilst we strive for excellent levels of food and service, a Michelin star is certainly not... More

Have been a regular diner at The Falcon for the last 30 years or so. During this time have witnessed and enjoyed many changes in management and staff. Sally Facer the current Patron and her team are doing an excellent job. Took family for lunch on 29th January. As good as ever in terms of food, wine selection and beer.... More
