Bavarian food at its best – not necessarily for vegetarians – from pork knuckles to roasts to schnitzels, often served with the restaurant's special beer sauce, made from the beer brewed closeby (Kuchelbauer brewery with worth-seeing Hundertwasser tower and house and instructive tours!) Decent prices, good portions and great quality of food, esp. meat. Also, old "Wirtshaus"-feeling without any kitsch.... More

Had schweinebraten with brown Sauce and dumpling Meat was warmed up the Sauce taste like Maggi with to much Salt Dumpling was ok

Situated direct in the middle of this old Bavarian town. We visited during the asparagus season, which is farmed all around Abensberg. Naturally we both selected the asparagus, with local ham and new potatoes, but there is a well planned menu for every taste, and don't forget the local beer.
