Back after a while on recommendations after a change of regime. Very good real ale and choice of wines at sensible prices. Highly recommended food and menu looked good so we will be back to check it out.

Decided on going here after veiwing on tripadvisor. My partner enjoyed the scotch egg for starter & then had pork. I enjoyed the venison burger, which was fabulous. Well priced good quality food in a beautiful pub. We will definitely be returning & have already recommended to friends.

We booked a table for the birthday of a family member and had the most amazing Sunday dinner. We found the food to be amazing quality and the chef has an exquisite twist on even the most common meals which I feel makes this pub unique. We had three courses and each one was brilliantly done, clearly using high quality... More

We were in a hurry and chose to visit on Tuesday. Delighted to find a choice of homemade pies with mash and liquor. Beautifully served by the fire and in good time by attentive staff. We intend to return and take more time to indulge in the full menu.

We had been completely un-impressed with all of the other pubs/restaurants in the local area but the Royal Oak absolutely blew us away!!! The food was fantastic well presented and tasted great, my father and future father in-law both stated it was one of the... More

We went to the Royal Oak for Sunday lunch after a trip to Canons Abbey 2 miles away. We got a warm, welcoming reception and they found us a table even though we hadn't booked. The food was fantastic. We opted for the 'Royal' roast option where we could have a mixture of meats and were not disappointed. The portion... More

The pub had a Burns menu running in parallel with the normal offerings. We started with Cullen Skink soup, followed by traditional Haggis Neeps and Tatties and a fantastic Cranachan sweet to finish. Absolutely brilliant evening.
