I'll keep it brief.... My wife's toast was very burnt. The scone didn't pass any normal test for a scone except that it was round (see Mary Berry for more detail) My hot roast beef sandwich was a disaster, it tasted like it had been roasted a week ago, left in the fridge since then, taken out and microwaved before... Planned an afternoon in the forest and ended up in burley. Had a stroll around and found this place at the far end of the village. Looked so quaint from the outside. Lots of seating inside and out. Seated very quickly and our order taking quickly, They have gluten free carrot, lemon drizzle, and ginger cake as standard and gluten... More

My wife and I had a great meal here while visiting Burley to buy a bike. The food was delicious and the service excellent. But the best was yet to come! After we had returned home (2 hours' drive away) I realised that I had left my rucksack in the restaurant. I phoned them, spoke to boss Peter and he... More

I popped in with my wife for a cup of tea and a slice of apple cake. The tea was fine however the cake tasted more of cinnamon. It was pleasant enough though. The actual place inside has low ceilings and a quaint fireplace. It was decorated for Halloween so it had a fun feel. The toilets however need to... More

Called in for morning coffee with my wife. Ended up having a cream tea, which was delicious. It came with two lovely warm scones, clotted cream, two small pots of different flavoured jams and plenty of tea (or coffee if you preferred). The surroundings are very warm and cosy in this quaint old farmhouse (mind your head in the doorways).... More

Dropped in for quick lunch on a beautiful sunny Autumn day. The outside area was uncared for and run down. My hot beef sandwich was a few slices of tasteless beef in a bit of sliced white with some uninspiring garnish and crisps- expected more for £6 +. Service was OK but nothing special.
