On holiday and visited Newlyn around lunchtime, so wanted somewhere for a quick bite to eat. Usually I'm rubbish at finding somewhere (i.e. I manage to find the greasy spoon cafes) but this time we struck lucky. Duke Street Cafe is clean, bright and airy. The service was very good and the food was *really* good. It's clearly home-cooked ("home"?... More

we have made a few visits for breakfast to duke street since the new management took over as we have always loved its character and food,Although we are not disagreeing that the food quality is very good, but we think is overpriced for the amount being served,at £6.95 plus tea/coffee for the smaller breakfast it totals nearly £10 which for us... I visited this cafe this morning for the first time since it reopened under new management and it was spot on. My breakfast was cooked perfectly, the quality of the ingredients was very high (for example, the sausages were sourced from Lenterns, the local butcher across the street), and the coffee was great. Highly recommended.

Lovely home cooked food. Particularly liked the homemade hummus on the jacket potato with roasted veg. Great coffee too served by friendly staff.

This is a firm favourite when visiting the area. When available the crab sandwiches are perfect and when not there are other great options , brie & cranberry panini being one. Although we didn't choose this the bubble and squeak looked an excellent special too.Very good teas & coffee or even a cheeky mulled wine near Christmas. Staff are very... More

We called in during a brief visit to Newlyn and wish we had longer time to stay and eat. The menu looked really good with unexpected dishes.. It had such a good atmosphere. Their christmas menu looked excellent and they were taking a lot of bookings for it. The coffee and cake were delicious

5 of us went for lunch. I had never been to this cafe before but what a treat! Turkey pie and veg followed by fruit crumble were delicious. All homemade and piping hot. Lovely chunks of turkey in a creamy sauce , topped with light pastry. Others had chicken and bacon salad which looked great. We all cleared our plates!... More

The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. After a morning out along the beach (and fish/chips) we popped over for a quick cuppa, we planned to sit outside as we had our dog with us and found that the cafe is dog friendly, they're allowed inside (well behaved) - we had tea and lovely cakes. We will visit... More

Where better to meet old friends for lunch, than a cafe they chose clearly frequented by other locals as well as visitirs to the area. My friends enjoyed well presented egg & chips but this is NOT a greasy spoon, my bacon, brie & cranberry toasted pannini was also delicious and equally well presented. Attentive Staff helped add to an... More
