Seafood soup for starter was nice and good. Main course was lobster, which was tasteless and highly disappointed.

While on vacation, my boyfriend and I had visited here for a lovely lunch. The food was delicious. I had the seafood chowder and a lobster salad. My boyfriend had the fish and chips. The food was delicious and reasonably priced (by Iceland standards). There scenery was lovely with windows around the entire dining area.

The view of the ocean from here is amazing. We came at sunset and it was stunning. Of course, like all food in Iceland, it was expensive, but very good. I got the lagoustine tails and it filled me up. The waitress (I wish I could remember her name!) was fantastic and she spoke with us for a while after... More

This restaurant has a beautiful view on the sea on one side and a lake on the other. It is build like a ship and you sit next to big windows. We had fish&chips there which was very good.

Stunning views, good starter but average to disappointing main meals. I had salted cod which was average, my husband had fish and chips which was awful (soaked in oil). So not every dish is good.

This was my second visit to both Iceland and Hafid Blaa and I have to say that Hafid Blaa likely is one of the best kept secrets on Iceland for both quality of food, ambiance, service and the entire set up. Plan to be back with 4 family members tomorrow eve :)

Superb view, amazing food. As reviewed before about the food size, we all order three dishes and didn't had space for dessert. They also have an amazing variety of beers (local ones as well). Order: -Lobster Salad (starter turned into main course) -Lobster (Langoustine) Tails -Gratin Bacalao

This restaurant sits all by itself overlooking the beach. We were the only ones there the night we dined and the employees left right after we did, around 7:00. You may want to call first to make sure they are open! The lobster salad was superb, but there was only 6 tiny chunks of lobster in it. It was around... More

Hello! Thanks for your visit. I know it can be a bit strange to eat in an empty restaurant, and we appreciate that you gave us a chance. We are new and we know it will take some time for us to build up a reputation. So of course, it is disappointing to see that you felt your experience was... More

Hafid Blaa (The Blue Sea) Restaurant majestically stands alone upon a plateau and one would think that this restaurant, without others around, would be ordinary at best! But we dined several times as the food, ambiance, friendly, attentive service was so good. The competition came on the menu as to which dish was better! It was hard to out stand... More

Description
Sitting on a narrow strip of land between the estuary at the Ölfusá River and the open North Atlantic Ocean, Hafid Bláa offers up spectacular panoramic views with your meal. On a clear day you can see at least four active volcanoes, including Eyjafjallajökull and Hekla, and out to the Westman Islands. The location on the south coast between Eyrarbakki and Thorlákshöfn makes a convenient stop on your Golden Circle, South Coast, or Reykjanes Peninsula trip. The menu focuses on fresh seafood, including lobster (langoustine) and fish and chips. Or enjoy the view with a cup of excellent coffee and homemade cakes.
