I had monkfisk for lunch at this restaurant and I must say that it was one of the best fish meals I have ever eaten. The fish was perfectly fried, lean and still tasty. This is worth the trip from Venice.

We tried to get into Al Gatto but they did not have any tables available. We walked around and came across Al Vecio Pipa. We ordered a scampi and a fish meal. We are from the New Orleans area and were craving seafood. It was delicious!. We sat outside and everyone who walked by looked at our food. I think... More

This place is fantastic! This is the best food we had in Venice! Besides the delicious food and friendly service, we also enjoyed the local restaurant atmosphere. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to go back!

I am a very critical person, but this place took me by complete surprise!!! Just the type of a place I was looking for: warm casual atmosphere, fantastic food, very friendly service on par with any self-respecting NYC restaurant. Great overall experience. I/ we will definitely go again when in town next time. It is a MUST if you are... More

We were there 3 years ago and went in because of the Rick Steeves and Le Routard medallions on the door. These are both gone, only Trip Advisor remains and I find that Trip Advisor reviews are useless. The food was dry and overcooked and the service was mediocre. I wouldn't go back.

A late afternoon vaporetta trip found us in the beautiful town of Burano. With its winding canal and beautifully coloured houses it was like something from a film set. We looked for somewhere to eat, many places seemed to be closing up, when we noticed the Tripadvisor sticker on the restaurant door. The restaurant was empty apart from a jolly... More

On a whim, we took the Ferry to Burano - heard about all the colorful houses et al .. Stopped off at this anal-side crestaurant for a quick lunch. Actually was not disappointed at all. Had the spaghetti bognese and my other half had a tuna salad, wine, water .. all was very good and cooked to perfection - price... More

We had a superb meal here on the recommendation of our hotel on neighbouring Mazzorbo. This bright, cheerful restaurant is quite different from the intimate, cosy trattorie one usually finds in Venice and the islands. Max our waiter looked after us very well and made sure we had an enjoyable evening, treating us to complimentary grappa and Buranese biscuits at... More

We had planned to go to Il Gatto Nero but discovered it was closed for a wedding that day. They kindly recommended Ristorante Al Vecio Pipa and we couldn't have been happier. The seafood risotto was the best I have ever eaten. It was so good, we almost ordered another round before sanity prevailed. Another member of our party had... More

We had a day in Venice on our cruise and as we had been there before we decided to take the vaporetto over to Burano - the lace island. Great experience and all the better for this lovely restaurant situated overlooking a narrow canal with brightly colored boats and pretty shop fronts. We sat at a table on the sidewalk... More
