the food is always great. have had MANY different dishes there but i like the spicy calamari best of all. the stone grilled steaks are amazing, as are the ribs (1/2 price wednesday!) and pasta dishes. never disappointed.

My husband and I had a great lunch here. The service was excellent ! He had the special roast beef sandwich and soup, I had the clubhouse. There was fresh thick sliced turkey in the club! Heaven😊

I had a chicken quesadilla and salad, as well as one of the best margaritas I've had in years. BF had a bowl of excellent jambalaya, very fresh ingredients. Did not expect to find this level of food in this town. And the price was shockingly reasonable as well. Definitely plan to return to this restaurant if/when we stay in Vanderhoof again.

The Reid used to be a nice place to go for a nice meal, the ambiance, food & service were all good.
The last 2 times I have gone the place is in need of repair, the first time we didn't get our food after sitting an over an hour. very poor service. The last ( and I mean last) time we were there the service and food were both terrible .
I held off writing a review because at one time We really enjoyed the Reid . too bad

New McD's in town go there for a burger and save enough for a six pack to go with it.
Forgot our table's food order altogether two times we went. Brought wrong food the next time.
Someone who won't wipe mud off their boots or take off the baseball cap at the dinner table might think it's remotely classy. All the ambience of a 1960s 'beer parlour'.

The Reid is our stop every year on our way to Prince Rupert. We have never been disappointed with the food or service.
We stopped in on Saturday at 4:40pm.Today was no exception. I had the 10oz AAA steak medium rare. Done perfect. My wife had the chicken/cheese quesadilla. Was excellent.
Service was timely and non rushed.
Worth a visit!

Fresh chicken breasts are always the best choice when serving a Chicken Caesar salad. I was so disappointed to discover a frozen packaged breast when I opened my take out. Also, real bacon bits, even packaged ones, are better than imitation bacon. The salad itself was okay but I won't return.

I had their jambalaya and it was very tasty just the amount of spice. It was a good size portion enough for my dinner and lunch the next day. I had recently come back from Jamaica and ordered jambalaya in a restaurant there. The server tried to warn me that it was spicy and I said no problem but when it came it was a very small amount almost no meat and not spicy at all. I would definitely order this again. The server was also very friendly. My husband had their steak salad with blue cheese and he loved it.

Available staff were good. Shame on Management for not having more people working here. Service would improve if more staff worked here. Food was good.

We really didn't like seeing the server walk around in bare feet. But the food was good. Very small place unless I missed a section

We went here as a group. We enjoyed the appetizers like the calamari and potato skins. The plain wings are literally plain, no salt and pepper. I ordered the pineapple glazed steak with stuff potato. The steak is really soft and tender which made it easier to eat. The stuffed potato that came with it wasn’t that appealing to me and satisfying maybe because I loved the keg and Moxies version more. The rest of the foods ordered by my friends were great like the ribs. It was crowded that night. It was Saturday night so service was a bit slow but we understood that.

Was looking for a good and quick lunch in Vanderhoof and the Reid did not disappoint! We had a fairly large group of 7 and we found a large table that seated all of us plus some. The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived. The menu is quite varied with a good selection to choose from. We had wraps, the lunch special, salads and a burger and they were all given two thumbs up. Our server was friendly enough and the food arrived quickly for how busy it was. The Reid has a great location and a casual environment for dining. I would say that prices were average for lunch.

Had lunch here today. Ordered basic stuff. And pre-ordered ahead of time. Food came fast-kudos to the cooks on that. Food was meh and is every other time I visit this place. The two waitresses that "helped" us...both we had to flag down to get drinks. The one-you know who you are...when asked to bring us extra condiments looked at us like we were piles of poo. But then promptly came back with what we asked for. We were very polite upon each request but every time she "had" to come to our table it seemed VERY inconvenient for her and like it was such a chore. Her body language screamed I Hate My Job. When asking for a simple refill on water I could have swore I almost got an eye roll.
The best part was when it was time to pay...a line of people and then hearing from her....could people please line up in this side?! We have 2 debit machines! She was very irritated and I heard a few people in the line mutter comments about the rotten service at this restaurant.
The Reid might be a Vanderhoof staple. Not for me. You might suck people in with your fancy menu but once you're in, service sucks, chairs are like sitting on toilets(you sink in the middle), the bathrooms are falling apart, and the usual permanent fixtures are smattered all throughout the place- the drunks, the gossipy snobby upper table, and the leering lunchtime blue collars.
Go somewhere else!

Have had lunch here a few times now and really enjoyed the food. Had pulled duck club sandwich this last time which was delicious. Go for the soup side option and you won't be disappointed!
