Couldn’t be happier with our dinner experience! We were really late on a Sunday, however they were kind enough to let us eat quickly (although made it really clear that we could take our time to enjoy the meal). Food was delicious, and the service from Chris and Mariah was first class, so polite and comforting. Would highly recommend dropping in, just keep in mind closing times are a little earlier in small towns. Thank you Chris, Mariah and the kitchen for a great night!

Great service. Glad to have them open again. We made reservations. The fish and chips were very good. A great place to have dinner. We would definitely come back.

We have eaten here numerous times over the years and it’s always been good. I understand restaurants are struggling but there is a level of expectation when you visit a restaurant. There was one waitress for the whole restaurant. We waited 20 minutes for our waitress to come over to ask us about drinks. The man at the table next to us finally went to the bar (waitress was also bartender) to ask where his beer was. We waited at least another 10 mins for our drinks. So 30 minutes sitting without being served. We ordered all our food when she brought our drinks because we just couldn’t imagine when we’d see her again. They were out of quite a few items including the wine we wanted. The only reason I gave it 2/5 is the food was good and portions were good. We would reconsider going back.

We have eaten here numerous times and each time has been a great experience. The servers are friendly, and make the experience even better. I would recommend the edamame, delicious and different than any I’ve had before. The bacon wrapped jalapeños are also to die for. This is a beautiful building, large fireplace and views of the lake .

It was about a 30 minute drive west of Prince George when turned down a short road to access the lake to kayak. It was Canada Day, mid afternoon the sun was hot & the lake was calm for kayaking. As we past our launch spot we saw a large cabin structure with a patio & thought we would check it out on our return.
After a few hours on the lake we loaded our kayaks & popped into The Cabin Restaurant. The large windows give a great view of the lake, the outside patio was perfect to sit & relax. It does have a dock if you want to pull up there & continue on later.
The menu was quite good & km sure anyone could find something to suit their taste.
The service was excellent, not stuffy & not casual (as you might expect for out in the middle of nowhere). It was personable, interactive, attentive and made you feel you made the right decision dropping by. However I think you might want to make reservations if planning dropping by in the evening.
We enjoyed a beer from a local brewery located in Prince George which is a nice change of pace instead of always being offered the mass produced swill you can get anywhere.
We shared a pizza which was very tasty and later thought we should have ordered one each it was so good.
After sometime watching the birds & ducks next to the patio we ordered dessert which was the perfect finish to the late afternoon.
I would recommend stopping in & checking this place out. I believe they have limited hours so call ahead or check their FB page for info (they might be seasonal also).

This restaurant left somthing to be desired as far as the food is concerned, which was disappointing. This was our third time here and we were hoping things would have improved with time. The service was great and Chris was very attentive and friendly. The Cabin itself is very nice and the view is good although it would be better with more brush cleared to the lake. The ribs were difficult to eat and cut through placed on top of the fries and a little tough. The prawns tasted good, but were not deveined and I found myself pulling the vein out of my mouth after each bite. At this price point I feel there is still room for improvement, although they were missing a chef on the day we were there.

We were on a visit to the Sturgeon hatchery in Vanderhoof. We had a fantastic tour of this facility. Everyone should take a tour and see all the Sturgeon, small to large.
On the way back we saw a sign along the highway about “ The Cabin”.
Needless to say, the atmosphere of the Cabin was great and clean. The view was great. And the food, was fantastic A couple of us had the home made patty cheese bacon burger. Great taste. No compariyto the humdrum standard chain cheese burger. The beef dip was great.
The only downfall is the over priced can of coke or root beer at $3.25 a can.
Otherwise a good value. Stay away from the sofa pop

3 of us had the cabin Mac burger which is their version of a Big Mac but better. A little pricey for adding bacon though. Would definitely have it again. The view was beautiful with everything covered in snow. It’s a little out of the way situated between Prince George and Vanderhoof but worth the drive. You take a side road off the highway and may think you made a wrong turn but keep going there are signs but not very big. Apparently when lake freezes some people come across on their snowmobiles for lunch. They also have a pomegranate chicken that’s very good.

The Cabin is lovely, big and open with gorgeous windows and view of the lake.
We had a fabulous meal, the service was excellent. The staff is cheerful and obliging but don’t hover. It was a perfect evening. Very fair pricing on a very impressive menu. We will have to go back because there were so many entries that caught our attention.

The Cabin Restuarant is right on Cluculz Lake and has a more than adequate menu and wine list. We shared an appy, a wonderful pizza and a nice bottle of wine. Suggest making a reservation especially in the summer.
