I don't usually review restaurants although I'm a big time foodie and so is my family. I just HAD TO write about this place and our experience. We belong to Ahmedabad and we are on a road trip from Hubbali- Karnataka to Kerala and further....Tonight, on our way to Kozhikode, we looked up for a restaurant in Thalassery for dinner. Salim Hassan's Park View seemed like a good option. So we dropped in. I guess we were wrong. It's wasn't just good. It was GREAT. In fact, the best. Our first meal in God's own Country was pure Heaven. The owner was the sweetest host. He told us what all he had on the menu and recommended the finest dishes according to our taste and the State's speciality. In no time, we had nearly 4-5 kinds of breads and the most flavorful dishes on our table. The chicken stew was to die for. I highly recommend that. The fish curry won my heart. Chicken Kebabs were great too. The ambiance was creative and nice. If you pass by Thalassery, you cannot miss this place. Taste- 5/5 Ambiance- 3.5/5 Service- 6/5More
Happened to travel from Mangalore to Salem placed order over phone for delivery at railway station. The service presentation quality and pricing was too good. Would like to visit again.
Whenever we are in Thalassery we are always on the look out for good restaurants. Trip advisors search result had this on the top spot and so we went! We weren’t disappointed at all, amazing host Luqman suggested what we should order - ofcourse we...had biriyani and chicken karekudi a slightly dry dish was mouth watering! We also had wheat porottas, pepper chicken and chicken stew all of them were delish! Beef roast was tasty, the meat was a little tough, otherwise all good, we had a great time. A place we will definitely keep visiting! Good job Luqman!More
Nice restaurant in Thalassery.Straightforward diner offering modern Indian and Chinese dishes & nice services. Very near from bus stand and railway station.
This restaurant was highly recommended on some travel/food sites and fully lived up to its recommendation. We were welcomed by Luqman who, leave alone just assisting us with the ordering, actually took on the responsibility given we were floundering with the options. Everything he suggested...was spot on and no point did we ever get the feeling that he was trying to off-load any dishes on us. The selection and quantities were just right. The restaurant was clean, the food tasty, service both courteous and efficient and the prices reasonable. Its centrally located and easy to find. A good place to visit in Thalassery if you want to sample local fare. My only suggestion would be for the restaurant to have a nice clean restroom. This would complete the package for a traveller passing through to stop over here. On the whole a good experience thanks in large measure to Luqman and his team.More
'Salim Hassan's park view' came on top of the suggestions list, when I took a driving trip with my family, to Thalassery on the Christmas weekend. We were driving from Wayanad and our hunger pangs had pretty much peaked when we hit Thalassery town at...about 2 in the afternoon. The restaurant is in the centre of town. It was easy to pin on the map and we reached within 10 min after hitting the outskirts of Thalassery. It was easy to find parking, since we got to park right outside the restaurant; Easy perhaps, since it was also a Sunday afternoon. Having built up an appetite for Kerala (Malabari cuisine), the aroma of fish being fried just outside the restaurant was the perfect start to our experience. Luqman (the owner) was at the door and escorted us to our table. the restaurant has an open kitchen and close knit seating, This I believe, is designed for patrons to have quick meals. Personally I prefer the aroma's of the kitchen and we really didn't mind the setting, it was some great food we were looking forward to! :) Not being aware of the restaurant's best offerings, I asked Luqman to suggest dishes to satiate our hunger pangs and palette. He suggested the meals with fish fry and two preparations of beef. The food was just fantastic and every dish was well prepared. In fact, I just had to take a second helping of a roasted beef dish. We ended the meal with a sweet lemon tea, perfect to keep me awake for a 4 hour drive back to Wayanad. I also got an opportunity to speak to Luqman about the restaurant and he mentioned that they offered only on 'naadan' (kerala cuisine), which I think does make a difference in quality of preparation. Also, it is a refreshing change from a multi cuisine restaurant. While the food was just perfect for our palette, and the cuisine we were looking for, what stood out for me was the personal attention Luqman gave us and to all his guests - 'Service from the heart' is hard to come by these days, but the warm and welcoming atmosphere only completed our experience. I am sure Luqman and his team not only prepare great food, but also genuinely love to feed their patrons. I surely look forward to going back, to try the other dishes they have to offer. I wish Luqman and his team the very best!More
Well this place was recommended by a friend and we decided to give it a try, to our delight the food was awesome and we loved eating our meals there so much so that we had our lunch and dinner here for the two days...that we were here for. We did try to give other places a try but didn’t work for us and we came back here to eat. We tried appam and stew for dinner and lunch was Kerala meal and both our meals were awesome! Would recommend this place if you are looking at eating some local food :)More
